    Hi Barry

AS Catering supplies are about the only people I can find on the net. Their link for your model here list a few spares. At least it’s a start 🙂

    Hi

Seeing as electrofix has replied to your enquiry on this thread, I have deleted your other one in the dishwasher forum otherwise it could get confusing to others.

    BBC news article

“Its investigation of 500 refrigeration appliances found backing material on almost half was made of unsafe plastic.

Which? has labelled 250 models “don’t buys” and is recommending consumers do not purchase plastic-backed models.

It says a number of plastic-backed models sold as “flame-retardant” could also speed up the spread of a fire.

All plastic-backed fridges, freezers and fridge-freezers on the market pass current safety standards but Which? says the tests are “inadequate, not fit for purpose and do not come close to replicating the source of a real house fire”.

If flame retardant is no good then a full metal jacket it has to be then!!

    Hi

There are no brushes listed or on the parts explosion which made me think it may have been an induction motor.

What I would do is email our shop spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk with the model, PNC number and a couple of good photos of the carbon brushes and see if they recognise them.

Trouble is the redesigning, tooling and production is going to take time. Retailers are going to have to sell through the old stock to make way for the new as well.

No doubt it will l be a couple of years at least before we see any big change. In the meantime Beko are the only manufacturer to have flame retardant backs to all their refrigeration and have done so for some years now.

    Hi

Rather than taking the duvet to the dry cleaners or launderette it’s just as cheap to buy a new one and donate the old one to your local dog or cat rescue centre.

There is also the Beko DRVT61W but it is still a 6kg.

I know it’s frowned on by certain people but Hotpoint still produce an 8kg vented dryer with mechanical timer.

    Hi

There are many versions of that appliance, we will need the PNC or prod no. 914…… in order to identify.

I did pick one version at random and it would appear to have an induction motor which does not have brushes.

What are the symptoms you are getting?

Re: Best tumble dryer for unheated room.

    Hi

If you use the tumble dryer all year round then I would simply go for a vented dryer with a mechanical countdown timer like the Hotpoint TVM570P. There are other suppliers out there who also produce this type of machine.

At 20 degrees C a sensor dryer should work, at 12 C it probably won’t. If you need the sensor dryer then yes you would need to heat that area in the winter.

Heat pump dryers are okay if you are not in a hurry for the clothes to dry. But like a sensor appliance you would need to add heat in there.

    HTH 🙂

    Hi

Your ip address suggests you are near Richmond Hill in Canada.

The models on the review pages you link to are common to your area and are nothing like the machines in the UK. They may have a different guarantee and a different build as well.

I have disabled the link as they have no bearing to the UKmarket.

Re: New fridge freezer chemical smell

    Hi

I have found recently quite a few nasty niffs in appliances we have unpacked for display from dishwashers to washing machines and fridges and freezers. Leaving the door(s) open overnight certainly gets rid of it.

Does it mention anything in the instructions ?

    Hi Kai

All the 50cm fridges are under counter in height. If you could find a way of securing and supporting two then you could put one on top of the other. You may need to reconfigure the top fridge door handle to make it lower down.

That idea aside the narrowest ones are 54cm.
