    Re: Ikea oven replacement

    Hi

The only reduced height single ovens out there are the compact appliances which stand at 455 mm tall. There is nothing else even on the Ikea site.

So the only way I can see it is you could remove a drawer, drop down the existing oven shelf to accommodate a standard 60cm tall oven. A fillet would need to be added under the oven shelf though. A fiddly job indeed but it’s the only solution I can come up with without spending lots of money.

    Hi

You are correct your oven is smaller, I have managed to find the installation instructions with sizes attached.

I’ll have a look around for you over the next 24 hours and report back.

Is there any way you can increase the size of aperture to take a standard single oven 60 cm tall?

    Hi

The 565mm on the height is that the frame or the oven body measurement?

Most single ovens are about 565 body and 590mm on the frame.

No worries we don’t see many Miele dishwashers let alone one without the usual salt sump 🙂

Have spoken with our local Miele engineer I do stand corrected the small sump is in the door, the salt mix is transferred down into the dishwasher by a small tube if he remembers correctly. Asking a little further he says “it’s not a DIY job as there are sensors etc involved.”

So it looks like it’s Miele time.

    Hi
I think you may be confusing the rinse aid which is in the door and not the salt container.

The salt container is in the base of the dishwasher. It has a large lid to unscrew as in the attached picture position 140.

    Hi

Nicely timed 😉 I have just had delivered a new WAN28201GB/23 for display so it’s from the same shipment as yours. I have spun the drum with the transit bolts still fitted and the spin rotation is nice and smooth with no bumps or sticking.

I would as already suggested run the machine and if it gets no better or gets worse over the next three or four months then phone for an engineer to check it out.

    HTH 🙂

    Hi

Your ip address suggests you are posting from Oz so I have moved you down to our Australian forum.

It may be worth checking the motor brushes. They need to have a good length on them with nice shiny ends and no pitting, also the armature needs to be clean with no raised segments.

    Hi

Beko products are about the best products in their price range. They are easy to repair, spares are reasonably priced and the build is good.

Most brands over the years have had a safety issue or two which has been mainly due to cutting corners by manufacturers and large retailers in order to satisfy a price point.

Kenwood is a badge name for Currys exclusively and made mainly in China, not the best of products at the price. Daewoo is a shrinking brand in the UK whcich is not in many retail outlets.

Beko is a good option for spread of product groups and options within each.

    Hi

Hotpoint charge in the region of £119.00 plus VAT IIRC or they may try and sell you an extended warranty in order to cover the repair and give you extra peace of mind for a year. You can get more help on this from this Hotpoint link.

Hotpoint in the main use their own engineers and the cost they charge is about the same as the other big brands.

Trouble is by searching by a different Enr number the ignition pack may be different to what you have.

You will need to have the correct Enr in order to get the correct one. I have just done a quick search on one of our trade sites and there are over 80 different Neff ignition units!!

    Hi

Sounds like the spark generator or lead or even both may be at fault.

Sadly though we are unable to advise on Gas DIY repairs link here explains as to the reasons why.

Like before if you post up the Enr and FD number we may be able to point you in the right direction.

    Hi

Can you post up the full Enr and FD numbers please? Usually found on one of the inner sides or around the motor area. Once we have these we should be able to advise further
