    Hi elwasher

I moved your original request ie this one from general trade forum to trade tech enquiries as it is better suited there.

I have deleted the duplicate post you made at 4.03pm.

Leisure are not a bad buy for the price but the build is nowhere near the same as the other two.

    Hi

Smeg are over rated and priced for the price you pay. Rangemaster and Leisure are okay but if you want the best then look at Falcon, Britannia and Viking at a price though.

    Hi

The Zanussi range is pretty good as are the Cannon models. Just remember you will not get the build quality that you used to get as the prices are cheaper.

    Hi Mick

Your Connect no. goes to 3112182195 which is obsolete at Lux group. Googling it brings no joy either, everyone is saying discontinued. I doubt very much anyone would have one lying around.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

The following is an extract from an email I received this morning on behalf of Whirlpool. Damage limitation time methinks.

    Whirlpool wrote: OFFICIAL STATEMENT

“Nothing matters more to us than people’s safety, which is why we have worked diligently and responsibly to ensure this issue is properly addressed.

“We have total confidence in the modification. Extensive testing and analysis of the modification both before and since its implementation has shown it provides an effective resolution for the issue.

“An external review with the input from three independent experts in fire safety, consumer safety and engineering, and general product safety, concluded that the modification remains the most effective way of rectifying this issue for consumers.

“We thoroughly investigate all incidents as soon as they are reported to us. We can confirm that, to the best of our knowledge, there have been no reported incidents where the modification has shown to be ineffective.”

Please be reassured that consumers can have total confidence in their dryers whether they were modified or replaced and there are no reasons for concern.

Should they wish to contact us though they should call our call centre on 0800 151 0905.

    Hi

Gorenje is a good choice, products are distributed mainly through the independent channel. Spares are reasonably priced with service sourced through the independents.

There is the thought that frost free with it’s more components is less reliable however the benefits it gives it is worth the risk IMO.

    Hi Steve

As you are a member of the WTA send Bryan aka r600a a private message with those details if he doesn’t see this in the next day or so. He has ways of finding out 😉
