I’ve never known a washing machine pump out when it starts a program, is this a new thing on modern machines? also i should point out that the pump is only on for a faction of a second.
When you say that it could be a faulty valve could that be either valve (not sure if it’s one or two valves on this machine) i ask because it takes water in ok at the start of a 40 degree wash.David
edit: boy do i feel a prat, i’ve never noticed that a modern w/m pumps out at the beginning but i’ve just check with one i have in the workshop.

What i’ve done in the past is use something like a metal coat hanger which i’ve straighten, then bend the end into 90 degrees and poke it through the holes in the drum in different places until i’ve snared the culprit, of cause this won’t work if it at the back.

Been thinking of renting as well lately, only thing i’m a bit worried is the rental agreement form, would anyone know where i could get a rental agreement form form? or have one that i could duplicate? and of cause any advice would be gratefully received.

ParticipantRe: How the ****did that get in there
Had a strange one a few years back, old hpt washer/dryer. The drum was stuck solid, wouldn’t budge an inch so when i took it all apart i was shock to find that the culprit was one of the lady’s lacy knickers, it had wrap it’s self round the spider and seal. never thought so little fabric could to do that.

I’m in the middle of doing Google adwords now, you don’t have much selection with who sees your ad, for me it uk, wales or my town, i can’t put in the county which would be much better, so i’ve settled on my town and i’ve placed a low monthly spend limit.

Plus there’s programs like “flash ad creator” which allows you to create flash banners, and it doesn’t hurt having a girlfriend that works with graphics to pitch in on creating a website. 😀
But it’s certainly a good idea to look at other service engineers websites to help the old grey matter into giving you ideas.David

ParticipantRe: commercial machines
No i hadn’t thought of the catering side Andy, it’s certainly worth looking into as regards to the extra income that i was looking for. You were right in your post that i was talking about Commercial Launderettes, around here the launderettes have machines that are older than i am that’s probably why there are electric instead of gas.
Do you deal with catering equipment? if so could you recommend any parts suppliers because as it happens i have a bartlett oven that needs a new element fitted.David
