Martin, you do not know my business and are making assumptions my friend!
I have been in this trade 32 years now, from working out the back of my shed doing repairs on my own to where I am now, and today my business is just me and one engineer and my wife who works part time, I am not preaching but if you don’t grasp the basics needed for making profit then you are not going to get far.
I was a sole trader and then realised that you can not rely on others so have to expand on what you do, I moved away from the currys work before the plug was pulled, same with nesn and isdal, luck or judgement, who knows.
What I am saying is its no good burying your head in the sand and then moaning on a forum.

Really? you work for yourself, so nothing is more important than profit margin, its profit margin that is your wages that pays your bills, daftest thing I have ever heard.
Not interested in building up your business? wow!
I don’t think you need to be a genius to work out why you are struggling

Same old same old, people talking about stuff they know nothing about or experience of. I am an independent retailer and I have no trouble at all competing with the internet, my sales are consistently rising and so is my profit margin. You have to adapt and offer what others don’t. Moaning about it is futile.
There is a lot of repair companies out there that also make a decent return as well.

Wow, that looks quality, I just wouldn’t want to risk my companies reputation by selling something like that, not much profit margin and sure to fail.

    Not for me.

Maybe they need to go down the direct enamel path as you won’t get this from a Miele machine.

So you have owned and run your own retail outlet selling whitegoods? And I don’t mean the odd 2 or 3 washers a week.
