ParticipantRe: A O
They are just a retailer though., they produce nothing, so once the profits erode to a point where there is no dividend the company will fold.
Well that’s what I hope any way!

ParticipantRe: Liebherr Warehouse Fire
It appears that they have lost everything, spares, stock and offices, not a lot left at all. All the new appliances due are being put in someone elses warehouse and it will probably be next week before they even have a computer set up, they don’t have anything left in the offices. Fire went up very quickly apparently.
Very sad, but at least no one was injured.

Not good at all, I was on the phone to MWD who are in the next building and they said wasn’t looking good, and feared for their warehouse and goods too.
Looks quite a mess, seems the new appliances are affected tooJanuary 15, 2014 at 3:22 pm in reply to: Does the term trade prices actually mean anything anymore #405953DrDill

I don’t think our reps are party to what happens further up the chain, Bsh need to sell in volume and I guess that deals are done withAO, they are obviously their preferred internet outlet. It makes sense as they are not getting the premium brand Siemens, I spoke with my reps a few years ago about me being the trade outlet for Bsh, where smaller businesses could buy their appliances from, and I do do that with the neff brand and still do, I have a TO price list which is about 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} better than my current price list, can only use that for my local trade sales though. So no home deliveries etc.
We will see how the year pans out, see what they have planned.January 14, 2014 at 11:51 am in reply to: First time house buyer, I need appliances, help please #392336DrDill

In my opinion the Bosch is better, my experience is that it sometimes takes a long while for parts for the Gorenje’s when they go wrong.
Just my opinion, but why don’t you find your local independent retailer and ring or visit them for a deal, you may be surprised at what they can offer you.January 9, 2014 at 1:55 pm in reply to: Risk of buying stock from a retailer like J/L or Currys? #407174DrDill

I am happy to supply any of you guys, all you have to do is email me what you want, (all the bosch Neff and siemens stuff is on my website)and I will email you a price, delivery will be done direct from BSH, just so you know their delivery charges are £50 + vat for first item then £5 + vat for any extra appliances, so the more you order the cheeper the delivery charge.
You only have to ask

As a consumer I would expect the engineer sent to repair my appliance to be competent enough to repair my appliance.
I can’t see that coming from just 20 days of classroom training

Ken,
we partner dealers do see are asm’s regularly and do raise our concerns regarding internet pricing, but to be honest it dosnt affect me too much as I can match the prices AO have, and in most cases they are dearer than me anyway. The point is I would prefer to have a healthy profit margin which is sustainable, I have been down the road of eroding profit margins before and it didn’t end well. Also we do get a good rebate from BSH and a very good rewards scheme that runs through sales figures which can be very rewarding for the wife!
Also in the face of any complaints about the internet, they trot out the same line ” We can not manipulate or tell retailers what to sell our products for”, they repeatedly tell me that AO have a higher purchase price to ourselves which if true means they sell some stuff at a loss, which does sort of fit in with their trading figures, and then again I don’t trust all that is said by BSH, they are in the market to sell product and lots of it.January 7, 2014 at 9:08 am in reply to: Risk of buying stock from a retailer like J/L or Currys? #407171DrDill
