    Re: 0800 Repair

It appears that the information that has caused concern has been updated and changed, so big hats off to everyones contributions and concerns on this forum for making this happen, it shows what can be done if we join forces.
It dosnt however get rid of all the concerns in the trade, but steps in the right direction to try and seperate quality engineers from the rest.

Had a customer yesterday complaining about the black stuff all in her door seal, when i explained what it was and guessed she didnt do any hot washes she was perplexed, told her we could fit anew doorseal but the inside of the machine drum could possibly be in the same state, she decided she couldnt cope with that and came in and bought a new machine.

Just to let you know that my local Miele dealer is my self, i am now set up with trade account and access to all parts lists, wiring diagrams etc, all online, one part from Connect is £120 +vat, bought from Miele £68 + vat, and 2 day delivery. Didnt even know i could do it, as a bonus Miele are looking at making us a agent for repairs.

Yep, customer got £581 and a free repair, she offered to buy me something from Comet, but as the voucher can only be used for a major whitegood i declined and told her to buy a member of her family a new washer or something. I just wanted to make sure the customer didnt throw out a Liebher fridge and then pass the word that they were no good.

I think you will find i am correct, i am referring to the purchase of appliances, not repairs.

    Re: 0800 Repair

I think this latest 0800 topic just prooves what we allready know, that in our trade the consumer really takes pot luck when picking someone to do a kitchen appliance repair. That is why some of us joined DASA and the WTA, to try and show customers that we are different and can be trusted with the repair, which sort of goes back to the original anger shown at corporate memberships? What we need is REGULATION! ( i have now put the tin helmet on my head waiting for the fallout from that little beauty, cant believe i manged to get it in again)

But seriously this has shown up again our trades failings to get rid of the less trained and dangerous amongst us.

I went out to a Liebherr built in biofresh fridge last week, sold by us for best part of £1000, unit was 2 1/2 years old and customer had extended home policy with Britich gas, the BG engineer hadnt even heard of the make and condemed it and a voucher for £581 was issued to the customer to spend at Comet, we repaired for no cost as the sensor was sent to us FOC by liebherr(cost £10), thats all that was wrong and if a normal customer repair would have been about £80 including labour. My point being that Britisg gas is a big brand and they are useless also, so how does the customer know who to call?

    Re: LG Smart Appliances

A bit pointless technology on a LG Fridge, he says the control panel will tell you when you food will expire, is that the use by date on the food or when the Fridge fails? I can just see the wife now on shopping day, loading all the info in to the display then into the fridge, nope wont happen so i will make do with my Liebherr Food centre with bio fresh which does waht it says on the tin!

I still dont understand why they need that brand name, or is it because BEKO has been tainted,?
