If you are a Physical Retailer then good things will be happening for us next year, especially if you are an account holder with certain manufacturers. We will at last be given extra incentives, promotions and exclusivity with certain products.
I hope it pans out the way they hope.DrDill

Smeg made machine, the bottom NTC is for wash water so unlikely to be the cause, the valve is not energised straight away, usually after about 10 mins, (the machine may even do a quick spin before it does engage). the power module is in the bottom front corner on this one and may be worth checking for dry joints. if the pcb is marked: VSD010_C63 then it is faulty from new and must be changed.why does it spin? do you have any technical on these? On my machine it dosnt fill till 10 minutes in to the cycle and then it will spin for 5 minutes on maximum speed then 15 minutes on it will be full of water and be washing with the dryer fan and heater on, and we have changed just about everything, your help would be welcolm.

Do you have any technical on this machine as i have a Neff one that is doing similar fault and i have just been changing everything to see if it will work, it really does have me stumped.

As far as i am aware, there is no minimum requirement for electric hobs, this is because of the absence of a flame.
Most Neff electric hobs just state that the units above resist tempatures up to 90 degrees!DrDill

ParticipantRe: GE fridge spares
Older GE get the parts from ISDAL, newer ones from GDHA and as Connect are an approved reseller for GDHA you can get the bits from them, or ring GDHA direct spares line, i use them all the time and they are very helpful and give you part numbers which work on connect sytem.

ParticipantRe: Customer quoting Sale of Goods.
I have copied this text from a trade magazine:-
You may have read about it in a newspaper article or heard about it on the radio – recent news has reported that under European legislation, if a fault develops in a product within a 2 year period from date of delivery, all consumers are entitled to a free repair or replacement.
However this is not strictly true. Nowhere under the UK’s Sale of Goods to Consumers Legislation 2002, as enacted on the 31st March 2003, does it state that consumers are entitled to this.
Somewhere along the line the media have managed to mix up the European legislation and the UK legislation.
When the EU legislation was implemented the UK Government and others decided not to implement Article 5 of the European Directive 1999/44/EC responsible for the UK’s Sale of Goods to Consumers Legislation 2002. As it happens, Article 5 is the vital part which gives consumers the right to claim a free repair or replacement for a period of up to 2 years from date of delivery.
In the UK the Sale of Goods to Consumers Legislation 2002, stated that any fault that develops with a product during the first six months from date of purchase is deemed to have been present at the time of sale and therefore the consumer is entitled to some form of compensation. This compensation can take the form of a free repair or replacement, the choice is initially up to the retailer. After the first six months period of time the consumer has to prove that any fault was present at the time of sale.
Consumers in the UK have the statutory right to be able to claim in a court of law for a period of up to six years (five in Scotland) that the goods were faulty at the time of sale or are not of sufficient durability and therefore claiming some form of compensation. However this does not mean that goods should not go wrong during this time or that a reasonable charge should not be made for their repair.
It is unclear why Article 5 was not implemented; perhaps because it was felt that that as consumers in the UK already have the right to claim in a court for up to 6 years (five in Scotland), that the goods they bought were faulty at the time of sale, there was no need for the two year repair or replacement warranty.

Yes interesting reading, the commision mentions that the suppliers can give incentives to the physical retailers which does happen, it makes sense to me.However in this country it is dominated by Zug and Electrolux, bit different in the UK.
Lets hope they follow this up with a more indepth one for the UK.

I am a bit late, but the G5624 is the one to go for, you are replacing a fixed door system unit so you have to go for a fixed door again, on a silding door system you can use either. Doors are reversabkle and very easy to fit, ive done dozens of them.

ParticipantRe: NEFF V5340X2GB/06 DRYER FAULT
Okay, we have replaced this machine with a new one, and we have this in the workshop. Has any one got any ideas or a function flow chart for this machine. The fault:-
select dry
machine fills for 5 seconds on wash valve, then dryer fan starts up and dryer heater, everything looks good, however the fill valve for the dryer dosnt come on and dosnt recieve any power at all so the clothes get hot and wet. We have cahged inlet valve, main pcb , thermister and display pcb, all other components have been put on the mega to find even the smallest earth path and none have been detected. Machine performs perfectly on all wash cycles.Any ideas or service manual/info would be welcome. I am determined to fix this.

There was a member of the public some while back on here that had the effrontery to suggest that ‘whitegoods engineers’ was a contradiction in terminology, that engineers had to have sufficient recognised academic qualifications to even warrant the term. It created hilarious reaction from the white goods guys here at the time (much like this thread). So your use of the word “quality” tacked in front of that is, by the same token, open to much heated debate I’m sure. 😈
I think most of us here would be happy to be part of what you term “the rest”. Yes, I like the sound of that as I’m far more qualified to admit that in the 40 odd years experience I’ve endured in this cr$p trade, that I’m well happy just to be one of the rest of us lot. 8)
Well you Martin can place yourself in that group if you like, i will happily sit in the Quality Engineer group!
Defintion of Qualty:- degree or standard of excellence, esp a high standard
Defintion of Engineer:- a person who is competent in the service or repair, suitably trained and qualified.
and with the above add aperson who is insured and registered with either a trade body or goverment office.
