    Re: 0800 Repair

I thought that i would update you all to say that a member of DASA did contact me in reply to my email, contents of which will remain private, but i thought it only fair to put that record straight.

And by no coincidence there has been no response by the DASA council members that posted on here originally, Oldtog and Alex, i wonder where they are and what their feelings are of DASA now?

Unbelievable, some one wants to do something for others and you get someone else who can only think of posting a negative. Dont worry about trading from home, as long as you dont have customers calling and storing massive amounts of business items and deliveries by massive trucks, you will not fall foul of any laws or council bylaws, i know as i have been there and confirmed no problems.

Fantastic offer for everybody from funkyboogy.

    Re: 0800 Repair

Okay, i am not that good at getting my point across, so i am just going to type as i think, so it will more than likely not make a lot of sense, but here goes,.

This is a trade forum, so any one registered can post here or read here, as long as they dont infringe the rules. So i can post here as often as i like about any subject i like, i can bang on and on and by the same token so can any one else and you can all choose to read them or not, and if you dont like my posts you can turn my posts off in any thread that i post in, so i find it insulting when some one tells me to “give up” or words to that affect.

I would say that nearly all us independants have had a tough time over the last couple of years, well i know i have and to be truthful i was on the brink of jacking it all in not long ago and for me that would have meant losing my home and everything else and a debt that would have been the noose around my neck, i decided not to give up and crack on, saddling myself with more debt and give it the last 20 odd years of my working life, just to pay back my debt and hopefully have something left in the pot to retire on, giving up isnt an option for me! I for one am sick and tired of companies like 0800/Jtm, repaircare and the others who run roughshod over us indies and feed us braedcrumbs and we are suppose to be grateful, some just doing the work because if nothing else it pays the wages of the people you employ, at least you can savour that fact. The point about this thread is that 0800 advertised untruthfully using the DASA membership as an added edge to their business credentials, in direct competition to us indies, i dont think this fact can be disputed as DASA themselves at their last meeting directed the 0800 representative to modify the way they advertised the DASA link, do you think they would have done this if the posters on here hadn’t have gone on about it? i dont think so!

This forum is the place where we indies can blow off about issues that affect us, and why the hell not, what does surprise me is the fact not enough of you post here to lend your support to this issue, come on guys do you want to be walked over or do you want fairness and a level playing field, i think its time all of us joined a trade body,DASA or the WTA? its up to you, lets stand up for Indies and back one another up.

Those posters that are having a dig back are just trying to create a smokescreen, DASA allowed 0800 to be members and allowed them to use the DASA name, no one else, DASA claim to be wanting our membership, well the leaked script above dosnt make me want to sign up with them, what about you lot?

The resistance of the valve coils was checked before and after and was the same resistance, a meter was connected to the valve and a voltage was reading and then the voltage was dropped after about 10 mins, the coil was replaced with a new one to discount valve coil problem as well. With those checks done i am pretty confident not a valve issue. thanks anyway

    Re: Our friends or Foe?

Like all DRL’s websites they run under famous names, they never truely make it clear who the customer will be buying from, i know a very large manufacturer has asked them to start to stock heavily their appliances and also make it clear to customers who they are buying from, dont think DRL liked it to much but dont really have a choice if they want to sell that manufacturers brands.
I dont understand how DRL can run websites under the names of Boots, Appliances Online etc and the customer thinks that they are buying from a famous name only to find out that they are not, surely trading standards need to take a look.

Oh my god, i couldnt resist looking at the 0800 facebook page, if that was my page i think i would have deleted it, lots of posts about nonsense and stuff that is happening in other countries and inbetween their is posts from real customers that really do tell the story of 0800 customer service. wow! more complaints than praise!

Didnt think you were interested in this anymore Martin?

I dont see any reason why ade and others, myself include, shouldnt keep posting on this subject, its important and the longer it goes on the more damage will be done to DASA’s reputation which is their own fault for not at least replying to the posts or allowing Ade to attend the meeting.
I dont want to sit back and why should i? Emotions only help elevate the facts, there is no court, there is no judges, the accused is refusing to speak, i dont need to take a deep breath, my lungs are still full, tongues will not be bitten and the importance of the issue will not lessen!

    Re: 0800 Repair

So it would be interesting to here DASA’s take on this now, surely this is not what they stand for? Allowing membership by a National company in direct competition to the independants they claim to serve!
