ParticipantRe: WTA OFT Degs report
What the f##k are you piping up for Martin, read my posts above, i just asked for a simple thing, i did not have ago at the WTA, i am interested in this OFT report, thats all! You are just jumping on the attack DR Dill bandwagon and as for the rest of you comment, have a word with yourself.
If its the case that i am offending everyone then cancel my membership of Whitegoods uk, i dont really care either way.

I am sorry, but i think you have actually lost your head over this, either that or you are having a proper go at me!
So i tell you what you win, you got me, i will wait for the report to become public through the OFT.

ParticipantRe: WTA OFT Degs report
Oh and if i was against the WTA, why did i take the time(and cost) to come to the last meeting and reply to Aidrian regarding the OFT report????
You have no idea about me at all, so please dont question my motives on a Forum, its not nice.
This has just turned into a crap thread for no reason, i just asked for a simple thing.

You don’t seem that interested in the WTA unless you’ve got something derogatory to say about it?
K.
Now your just putting words in my mouth! Its the weekend Ken, go down the pub and sink some! I think you need them.

You know what Ken, just forget it, you seem to jump on everything i say and churn it up, all i asked was a simple thing.
i do read all the posts, i read you said it might happen etc, but i not interested in waiting for a “might happen” i wanted to read it now thats all.Just going to hand myself in to the police for my crimes.
This in MY OPINION reflects badly on the WTA.

Dont understand what you want, all i asked was if i could see the report that was sent to the OFT, didnt realise it was top secret, i suppose this is why the OFT our rummaging around.
I suppose what your saying is that if your not a member of the WTA cartel you wont get any help or info from it? Is this what the WTA is really about and i thought you didnt like this sort of thing.Remember all i asked was to see what was sent. 🙁

ParticipantRe: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts
Yes i had this call too, i thought it was strange seeing that they never bothered with such calls last year. I told him i wasnt going to tell him anything about my business and he can see how much i spend on spares with them and he can also see how it is reducing month on month, and that is why he is ringing me. I said your too expensive on some parts so i simply buy them elsewhere, simples!

quickwash wrote:I beg to differ with DrDill, i have no intention of just dumping mine after 10 years, i had an indesit for 17 years 😯 and i know exactly what i paid for it 23 years ago!
If there was an expensive fault but the rest of the machine was still looking ok then i would get it fixed, these (ISE10) machines are made to last with spares being as cheap as possible and more easily fixed than a miele. That £100+ would be for fault codes to be removed ‘within’ guarantee as well because the drain pump being blocked is not covered. If pump was blocked on my ISE and i fixed it myself then i can remove any present fault code myself too, so as jimmy saville would say, ‘hows about that then’ 😆
The ISE10 is designed to last 8000 washes, thats 22 years at my usage, so time will tell. I will keep y’all posted, if the machine doesnt ‘outlive’ me that is :rotl:
stevefisher – hope my ramblings have been of interest, have a read of the ISE website and you will see why i was ‘tempted by the fruit on offer’ 😉regards

I accept your point, and its also acceptable that the Miele machine will last 22 years also, it too is designed to last that long. What i should have said is most people wouldnt remember the cost and most people wouldnt bother with a repair after 10 – 20 years use, unless of course the Public listen to the argument about buying better quality and repairable goods.
As a Miele Dealer, i have spoken to them and they would not charge a customer to remove a fault code within the warranty period.

ParticipantRe: washer/dryer recommendations please..
The debate about whether ISE or Miele is the better all round machine will never end, but in my opinion both have a 10 year warranty, if either fail after that and its a expensive repair (£100 +) which is feasable with either machine, then most customers will just bin it, its 10 years old, they wont even remember how much they paid just that its been a very good machine. Out they will go and buy a new one.

ParticipantRe: VAT Rise – Good News?
You dont have to worry about the VAT Martin as your not vat registered?
I think those that are not vat registered will suffer more than most as they can not retrieve the 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} back, average washer sale through my shop is about £400, so a small rise of £10 – not really going to bother anyone. The worst hit will be my customers buying a complete appliance set which averages about £3500, rise there of £87.50, again not a deal breaker. Even worse my customers buying kitchen , appliances and fitting average £11000 rise of £275.00, not massive when your spending £11k, i dont think its going to affect many local dealers as its the service we sell and not always the best price.
The biggest killer at the moment is rising fuel costs and fixed costs such as insurance etc, that is what i will be working on controlling, trying to be more efficient and getting full value out of every resource.DrDill
ParticipantRe: ISE5
Yes it is, the one with the boards at the bottom. I must admit i am scratching my head, assumed that the inverter board was faulty, but not. All electricals have been meggered, all okay. Its one of those which will be a simple fault but just cant see it! 😕

ParticipantRe: Are IKEA cookers any good, or SMEG?
I sell lots of Smeg appliances, no real issues, spares readily available and all repairs done by independants, worth buying in my opinion and above average build quality.
