If it wasn’t for the idiots that refuse to put any lights on when the light level is reduced then we wouldn’t need DRL’S,

The above is true enough, but not for any period of time needed for a 20amp dryer to complete a cycle, as you know the fuse is there to protect the cable not the appliance, the plug top however could and will start to melt after over heating, that’s why the fuse will blow after a very short period of time and I would doubt very much that a 20 amp dryer will work time after time without some one replacing the fuse time after time. The cable won’t overheat but the plug and fuse will, and that unfortunatley is why the current uk plug is the safest in the world when used and wired correctly.
So I stand by my statement regards the 20amp dryer working perfectly and the electric hobDecember 18, 2013 at 6:47 pm in reply to: How can the person who tested this in 2002 got away with it? #406363DrDill

That’s the only way you will get 20 amps through it martin, that’s bad, almost like using the nail in the old rewireable fuses in the consumer unit!

Sorry, a 13amp fuse blows when more than 13amps is drawn through it, no way can 20 amps be drawn through it, unless the fuse was somehow working at a greater load.
That’s the point of a fuse, its in line and blows when its rated load is exceeded, it is their whole purpose in life.December 16, 2013 at 11:01 pm in reply to: How can the person who tested this in 2002 got away with it? #406358DrDill

What if that oven was second hand and the pug top was taken off the appliance that was tested and used on this appliance?
it was 11 years ago, you are assuming that the plug and oven have always been together.DrDill

I thought uk standard voltage was within 6{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of 230 volts now, not 240.

The group of people that own AO are looking to sell the company next year, so new logo and all that goes with it, they don’t actually make any money yet.

Thanks lee, I never seen that X-ray programme, it’s a very interesting read. I wonder if he’s related to a man I use to work for who did similar scams, he use to be in a dressing gown till midday after having a swim in his private pool, and had a tan!

Some one turn the lights out when they leave NAC/UKT/FME.
Actually that might not be needed as the electric company will turn it off.

Yes, we have had the same, AO prices seem to have been lowered and a right pain in the arse and something I have complained quite strongly to BSH about, having invested a small fortune in new displays and jumping through their hoops to get access to partner products and better pricing, it seems that AO have the same pricing now and their next day delivery is very attractive to the customer.
