Re: Does the term trade prices actually mean anything anymor

I actually make more money selling a built in appliance than repairs now, even more with an install.

80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of our appliance sales are built in, and I mainly do Bosch neff and Siemens, good profits and really good with the install charge. It’s best to be direct account, you can do some good volume then and we are generally cheaper than John Lewis and on most against Appliances Online, I sell quite a bit to the local companies too.

Is this a known fault with the transit custom? I have one of them, 7 months old and so far so good, but do want it catching on fire!

Re: NAC (ADVERT THREAD: IGNORE IT)

No indie will make money from this, only the owners of NAC. But as always there will be a few indies that will kid themselves that it will work and that they will make money from it. As Ken would say, go knock yourself out. as for me not a chance would I part with a brass farthing for them, let alone £20!!!!!!!

We have just replaced a dispenser assembly as it was broken, I did notice that the tubes on the drawer were shorter than the ones in the picture, they must be made shorter now.

    Re: How Much …

Is the hood recirculating or ducted ? £120 + vat is what we would charge for swap like for like. Same price for fresh install if cables are there and hood is recirculating, including hob cut out not stone work tops though.

    Re: National Appliance Care ?

Anyway this National Appliance Care thing, the business model is not a new idea, there was a company that did the exact same thing in the early nineties, based in Leicester, they advertised in every yellow pages going and then passed the work to indies in the local areas for a set fee, but they went one step further by also setting up accounts with a spares provider and you would order all your parts from that account and they would then make money off that as well.
Trouble is it didn’t last long and all ended in a prison sentence for the director of that company! I lot of indies ended up out of pocket too.
There is a member on here who knows about the outcome of this too, so they would remember this scheme very well.

    Re: National Appliance Care ?

Hey I get a mention, like it would bother me anyone winding me up, wouldn’t bother me one iota. Actually made me laugh, any one who really knows me will know what I am about and to be honest I have fell out with most of the movers on here, including ken, but I tell you what I would trust him when I got down to the life or death call!

Back on track, just like to say good luck with the new venture ade, hope it works out for you but dragging this stuff up isn’t the way forward at all, move on and when your made it to the top then stick 2 fingers up at the rest of us,.
