And what’s wrong with picking at each other? Indies have done it for years and years, we will undermine each other to win contract work, stab each other in the back, sadly nothing will change!
Locking threads just shows how intolerant some people are to other peoples beefs, I can only understand locking threads if it turns abusive and foul language.

Or when one member actually puts down alot of other engineers and elevates his skills and ablities,( called Technical Enginer), something i think others missed.see this quote:-

Again proving you know very little about GDHA, simple repairs, the like of which you speak would very rarely be done by in house engineers, they were sent out to the much more complicated stuff, in case you didnt know most cookers, gas included were run by pcb’s, pressure switches and logic boards, not your standard stuff, the standard stuff gets sent to contractors.

Contractors (read independants) sent to simple repairs as the more complicated repairs (if there is such a thing) are done by the GDHA engineers, of which wst was one, what a put down for all the independants, i bet you didnt realise we were in such company!!

And something else, i now can see why you would say a range master and falcon are better than a Britannia, it’s because you worked for aga! Unbiased opinion then!

Really, well it’s a stoves engineer that calls at every GDHA appliance that goes wrong down here, with the uniform and silver van emblazoned with the brand names, and this is to simple door replacements and catch’s, so it seems you do not know as much as you think, but you keep kidding yourself.
As for repairing a stoves GRF, give me the schematics and tech and there isn’t anything I couldnt fix, pcb’s? In my younger days I use to make my own pcb’s, when I use to make my own amps, radios, switch controls, you seem to think that you are above every one else for some reason, I wonder where you inferiority complex come from?
Never mind, dry your eyes and move on, I am as I can’t be bothered with you any more.

So a technical engineer is the same as a normal engineer? No different? I never said I knew a lot about GDHA, I also didn’t say you were right, but you said you was a “technical” engineer for stoves 6 years ago, but you actually mean you was just a standard engineer and that means you probably wasn’t that good, that’s why you are not there any more. It sort of makes sense as the GDHA engineers that I have seen struggle to replace oven doors and get them to close properly, very poor. And that’s the reason why I won’t be selling them anymore.

You can still recommend them as they won’t be interfering for a while, in fact GDHA just increased an order of 200 units to 500 units to improve the current stock situation, so don’t have to worry yet.

stratfordgirl wrote:How are you so sure DrDill? You are giving wsts a hard time. How do you explain that only 2 of the 5 range cookers on the New World website are advertised with the Made in Britain logo?

Oh I am not that sure, anyway I am not interested in that now, I want WST to explain what a technical engineer is, as I am keen to learn more. Your never too old and all that!

Seems he doesn’t want to answer though.

And the difference between a c@@k sorry technical engineer and normal engineer?

Still waiting for your proof mr technical!

Consider this, that said parts are shipped to somewhere and then fitted to some local fabricated steel, where would that be made then?

Oh I worked for some one over 6 years ago too, doesn’t mean I know what they are doing now though, so I know a shit load of people too!
Technical engineer? What’s that then? Oh I see it makes you better than me and all us other just plain engineers,

Your still wrong mr technical engineer, what the hell is that, in fact tell me what is the difference between a technical engineer and a normal engineer, I would like to know and I am sure a few others would too,

as for education lee im sorry i didnt see it as a requirement.maybe thats why theres only a small portion of the trade as members on the map when theres thousands of people doing repairs on whitegoods?.if theres a required level of education then it probably means lots cant join until they reach the requird level?.

In my 32 years experience, electricians who repair appliances are not very good, jammie best stick to what your good at and leave us poor appliance engineers to fix these at the rates that you are not prepared to work for.
Electricians are a recognised and registered/regulated trade, appliance engineers are not, that is why rates for repairs are poor in comparrison.
