I have a rig somewhere to check ariston washer motors/modules from 15 years or so ago.

Something tells me I won’t be looking for it any time soon. 8)

Two minutes warm up with the blowlamp then a couple of sound blows with a lead mallet will free it off 8)

    Market forces Jeremy said.

We have to go with it and it is unstopable.

The customer is halfway to buying a new appliance when they call you.

    So sell them one!

I put a large mark up on fan elements which covers the cost of replacing the odd dud one.

The next Neff element job I get I will ask the customer the customer to buy it direct and I will charge for fitting then if it fails not my problem.

I do very few recon/second hand machines but all are sold with functional warranty only.

But how can you sell a recon Indesit with confidence?

    Re: Whirlpool Commercial Toploader

Set it going on a spin then give it a few minutes switch off then tip it back and have a feel of the clutch drive (thats the shiny metal cup just above the gearcase)

If its mad hot then the clutch drive shoes are shot and the clutch ssembly needs replacing.

Not to be confused with the drive coupling which is often wrongly identified as a clutch but which simply breaks and all drive is lost.

Also check if the drum has dropped and is catching in the bottom of the wash tub.

If so replace basket support and nut

I don’t get caught out like this any more.

First task is to identify every chip dent and scratch in the area and door alignment issues before the toolbox is opened.

Damage claims can seriously affect your wealth 😈

The guy at halfords told me the professional range were made by Snap on.

I haven’t managed to break one yet 🙂

Took a couple of Bank of Scotland tenners yesterday.

Far more acceptable than a cheque 😉

Scottish notes are not legal tender anywhere!

They are however legal currency which means something else apparently
