    Not just appliance parts.

I had a slight nudge in my car recently and needs a new wing panel.
7 months waiting list for a new one so they are having to get an old time panel beater to knock out the dents.
Can’t do that with appliance repairs unfortunately.:(

Didn’t Dyson make a similar machine a while back?
Not a success as I recall.

Anything other than heater or blockage, door seal I don’t bother.
Noisy spin, go and buy a new one but not Indesit, Hotpoint or Whirlpool.
I am old enough to remember when you could repair an Indesit wm and confidently leave the house and know that you had done a good job.
I think that puts me in the minority on here.

If I can’t fix it without removing it then I refuse the repair.
The risk of damaging the kitchen units or the appliance not to mention my back outweigh any financial reward.

My old printer was tank fed and due to lack of use the printer head would clog and need a deep clean which would blow through about £10 worth of ink to clear it and as it was almost out of ink it had to go.
I only print about 5 pages a month so I am happy with the cheap printer and it is very good.

I had a customer claim that I had damaged the decor door on a B/I dishwasher, it was obviously de-laminated due to steam escape due to poor install.
Letters were exchanged and they pushed for a new set of doors as they couldn’t get a match. I refused to pass it to my insurers and said see you in court and bring the door with you!
    Game over.

I think I dodged a bullet a few years ago whilst repairing a built in dishwasher, pulled off the kickboard and there was a very expensive looking ring laid on top of the dust and fluff.
I handed it over to the customer who said “Oh we lost that 2 years ago and claimed it on the insurance”
Absolute bollocks, the ring was clean and embedded in the dust as if it fell in there yesterday.
I think I was being tested or set up.

It doesn’t cost them that much to ship, they are just bad at business.
My Italian wine supplier has just telephoned me to say that there will be no problems with international shipments post Brexit and no increases in price, but I had to inform them that despite their excellent service over the last 10 years that I would not be purchasing from them until Brussels get their act together.

    They understand.

I am still getting my wine delivered direct from an Italian producer without disruption or price increases.
It’s all about customs/tax declarations etc.
Just heard that M&S can’t get some products into NI just now due to customs and they are working to resolve.
This is just piss poor management by M&S who should have had this sorted on day1.
Upside is they are not getting Percy Pigs which are disgusting.

Chinese vat tax loophole closed putting up prices.
Not before time as they were robbing EU and UK gov’s of tax revenue.

If Wee Nippy gets her way it will be a sight worse.
She would throw Scotland under a bus to get a top job in Brussels.

Depends on the value to yourself of the work you get from this agent as to whether you roll over and pay up or argue the toss.
I would ask to go and see the damage which must be horrendous if it goes over £300 so I would expect to see a ceiling down at least and ask for photographs if the work has already been done and insurance company correspondance and invoices.(There won’t be any)
I have called out scammers in the past who have alleged damage to kitchens, floor coverings, other appliances etc even as far as small claims court as I would rather pay double and see them get nothing than get shafted but that’s just me.
    Good luck
    Steve.
