ParticipantI got a pcb yesterday from Connect’s Ebay shop (Wowdiscounts). Packet had been opened and security label broken. No way of telling if it has been fitted or even if it is the right part.
Ebay descriptions say brand new unopened etc so asking for a refund.Steve.

ParticipantTook my own advice and bought the Ilve Roma with this amazing performing cooker hood which pulls 1000 cubic metres /hour on full power so hopefully no more false smoke alarms.

ParticipantRe: Best range style cookers to buy in UK?
I am leaving my 10 year old Britannia range behind when I move house next month and have been round all the showrooms to find a replacement.
My Britannia has only needed a light bulb replacing in 10 years and is very solidly built. The brand ownership has changed and the new models differently sourced and are not the same build quality so I have decided on a new ILVE range which is exactly the same cooker as my old Britannia but with some improvements.
A bit pricey but I know what I am getting.Steve

ParticipantRe: First 4 Service
Had a call from someone at Whirlpool to ask if I was still interested in doing the commercial training next week as F4S had gone.
So I enquired about the terms and it is £60 per completed call but you have to be VAT registered which will be because of the hugely inflated spares prices which are used on a charge back basis.
He also said that they could give me any ammount of domestic work to make up the numbers at £25 per call :eeek:
I did point out to him that was £10 less per call than Whirlpool were paying me in 1996 and politely declined.
An easy way to lose a lot of money methinks.

Now this.
Comments anyone?Steve
Good afternoon,
Even though First4Service has sadly gone into administration I am pleased to confirm that we have secured the training program on washing machines and tumbles dryers as previously arranged.
Although we will not be represented on these training days, Whirlpool are still very willing to train and subsequantly employ sub contractors off the back of this program.
I understand any aprehension at this stage so I would require confirmation from all that have previously agreed regarding your attendance.
Many Thanks again
Jason

ParticipantRe: February 2018 WTA conference
Never missed a WTA meeting yet but today’s left a little to be desired on the catering front in that there was not so much as a biscuit on offer on the coffee break and as a day visitor I had my breakfast at 6.15 am and could have done with a calorie input.
Venue was not dissimilar to a detention centre in appearance and I would welcome a return to a Hilton for the next venue.Great presentions by the way and good to meet up again.

ParticipantRe: appliance fires
This topic came up on BBC local radio this morning and they had a senior fire officer being interviewed who said as part of his statement that “The interaction between the consumer and the appliance is a factor in appliance fires”
A statement which will have gone over the heads of the majority of listeners but which roughly translated means customer misuse.
A point which no one seems to be addressing.Steve
