ParticipantRe: You must be CORGI registered to work on gas!!!
we had this situ when i worked for scot gas -esd..
a few of us had our corgi cards and were working on dual -fual apps..we had a meeting with the corgi rep, and it was decided that esd engineers would stop working on the gas systems on dual fuel as we were not doing enough gas work to be competent..he reckoned you need to be doing 2-3 gas jobs a day to be fully competent on gas products.
however he had no problems with working on the electric side of a dual-fuel app..he even said that if anything did happen after an electrical fault they would report that engineer was within his right to repair the electrical side.
but………..if it went to court the problem would be persuading a jury of 12 that problem wasnt anything to do with what you did….
jury would see you as last one to touch appliance…….do you want to take a chance…ally

MIGHT JUST BE WORTH KEEPING AN EYE ON SITU,
manager i know has vast experience in whitegoods repairs.
dont know why they would want him for sales or boiler repairs,
but you never know..got a whisper from an ex colleague that he has been tapped..didnt want to say to much about it..
but it does add weight to a repair network in the making

ParticipantRe: iguana
interesting stuff..the manager i know doesnt have any retail exp..re iguana site sales of apps..
i defo think they are putting a whitegoods repair network in place ..nationwide by the looks of it..
cant say to much due to ongoing obligations..

ParticipantRe: HD lcd tv
just bought a hitachi 32 lcd for the kids bedroom..not the fanciest or the expensive tv in the world, but if you buy from john lewis it comes with a 5 year warranty.. not bad i think..
infact most tv,s from j-lewis come with 5 year warrantys..so if your looking for a tv i would try them

ParticipantRe: Beware – Fishing Around In The Dark
at least it was still earthed.. but you will need to advise your customer not to remove the 2 little screws/cable grip …as some-one could pull the cable right out of that plug..
and that just plain dangerous…

ParticipantRe: FUEL PRICES AROUND THE UK.
dont really see what difference it would make if everyone voted, we would just get another load of muppets taxing us to the hilt for something else..
close our borders, boot out every one who is illegally staying in this country…
get all the lazy freeloaders who dont want to work of their backsides by taking away their benefits..oh and privatize the nhs..
these are 3 area where we must be throwing billions of our tax at..
