ParticipantRe: Another Referral Service
just has a look at their site , they seem to be set up more to offer service,s for bigger jobs , ie alarm installations , property services – dont see any tag for appliance repairs so im sure you would be completely lost among the bigger services they have ..
and like you say k – free of charge via ukw/wta, and of course google maps is another great way of being visable on google page 1.
these companies think they can add appliance repairs as another service to their portfolio without fully understanding the industry,
seems to be a growing trend – just another road to confuse the customer a bit more ..

ParticipantRe: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts
had a call tonight from someone i would consider honest and knowledgeable of the current situation , i was told there has been no notice and negotiations are ongoing , have been for some time. my personal take from that is – what the eventual outcome of any negotiations will be is anyones guess. but i thought it was very considerate that said person took time to call and explain.
a statement of any change will be communicated as/when/if anything happens .

british gas certainly got the systems and the manpower, mentality – to deal with demanding customers who they haven’t sold anything to could possibly have a detrimental impact on their brand – (looking after your world and all that)
what about dare i say it 0800 – they’ve been awfully quiet. cant really see it but you never know?
my bet
1st own network 2nd brit gas , 3rd hopefully just a rumour and we can all get back to doing what we do best – whatever that is ?

yip k , lots of if,buts and maybes
i would imagine comet would want to keep their best, offload any expensive liabilities , if that happens currys may not be blessed with the network they require ,
cant imagine it would be cheap to set up a network, do they copy comet and have service centres all over the place, service centre managers , line managers , lead engineers ,engineers, call centre staff , parts warehouse, cars ,vans –
expensive stuff, whatever way they do it , they must think its going to be cheaper/better than current system ?

ParticipantRe: internet spares
we advise customers we dont warranty the job if they have supplied it ,
if we supply-fit we give 12 months warranty – as opposed to standard 3 months..
just make sure you are making decent profit via callout/labour fee..

cant see comet being to amused by a competitor taking their engineers on a mass scale.
mind you who knows whats going to happen with comet ?
i thought currys was skint how much to set up a national network?

has anyone heard if true where the work will go
inhouse – i havent heard anything myself about currys recruiting nationwide engineers. – comet cant make inhouse work what makes currys think they can ?
another service provider ? is there any out there to rival connects ,distribution ,spares stock and software , brit gas is the only one i can think of who have simular system
anyone else in the mix ?
if currys get it wrong they could have a lot of disgruntled customers..
from an agent point of view yes of course its worrying , connect has actively sought other forms of work streams and hopefully will attract others but the fact is dsg is probably the biggest client.
lets hope that information is communicated swiftly to avoid any uncertainly.

dont know k maybe blessing in disguise ,
more ans more shed customers going for cheap appliances for one reason or another – as a result every other job is a built in low end piece of Chinese crap , most are multi visit via a combo of disgruntled buyers or crap components.dont blame the manufacturer as their building to cost-spec, cant really blame the customer maybe they dont have the cash ? debatable.
end results lots of busy bees .. not much honey

maybe there’s a whirlpool agent on here who can help – failing that take a diagnostic fee for you efforts and pass customer to one of the fixed price outfits ..
