    Re: Rejected Claims

you would think the w/p would have some due diligence regards serial numbers before they submit back to manufacturer , surely at some point in the process within a reasonable amount of time someone or something ie a computer should have noticed serial problems,

i would think if agent contests in a court of law stating the serial was correct to the best of their knowledge and any mistake was not highlited with a reasonable amount of time . and it may be impossible to now get serial for a whole host of reasons ie appliance me be scrapped etc ..

i think a court would possibly see this in favour of the agent

connect have a good system that pretty much tells you the serial is wrong and gives you the chance to correct it ..

Samsung pretty similar and can be a right pain in the but at times but aleast you know at that point rather then 2-6 years later ..

Re: The Most Stupid Things Engineers Say

this is possibly an area where training would be handy , i would say the manufacturers / wp should be involved, there is a lot of one man bands/engineers/muppets/ who are good at their job – but could do with a customer skills course .. ?

Re: The Most Stupid Things Engineers Say

and on that note what is the best thing to say to customers
who have been on internet etc and have discovered the appliance is a pile of poo ,
i know the trouble it causes in the office as customers will twist round anything the engineer says to suit their agenda and give office staff no end of hassle ..

we do learn to be a bit more diplomatic as we get older but at times it can be very difficult to not say anything or agree with customer if you happen to be the 5-6 engineer visit.

if anyone has a particular method it would be good to hear /share

in this climate you couldn’t fault anyone for trying , including 0800 franchise .. pity there no info about the costs etc for any potential candidate to make an informed choice .

they could read these forums but it may come across as a 0800 witch hunt ( dont know where they would get that from limh)

make sure your google maps is optimised re photos, info etc .. Google dont like it if your address is different in the map listing to any other listing address you have ie if you have a address in yellow pages etc ..google trawl business listings in yell etc to gather/verify your details. if you fully optimise your listing it will show above others

this chart shows all the details required and how they score your listing

Re: *** Feb Whitegoods Conference ***

cheers i knew Gordon/peter well when i worked their, lee came in when i was leaving.

like previous post said bg did drop a few agents on here from a high height , nothing to do with the above names..
i remember it well as i was one of the 1st wave of engineers employed by them when the decided to create their on network.

i was like the proverbial lamb to slaughter when i 1st came on ukw as a bg engineer with my rosy tinted glass – unbeknown to me at the time that bg had dropped agents in favour of employed engineers …. ahhhhh they were the days

but i realise in this climate you need to consider options, im a bit surprised of their interest.

    Re: Parkinson’s

yip does make you think about life when you encounter customers with illness etc ..

gregor my buis partners sister life has just been turned upside down within the past few days … came home from work with sore head – rapidly spread to numbness in arm then leg and finally speech,

rushed to hospital where initially they though minor stroke,
after tests done they changed mind not a stroke they dont know what …

more tests /scans – upshot internal bleeding in the brain – causing build up of blood in an area that surgeons cant operate or if they do very slim chance of success , left alone she will be paralysed down left side , they are trying anti swelling drugs etc which seem to working slightly – but cant guarantee bleeding will stop ..

so on monday – usual working day – monday night sore head
fast forward 2-3 days and her life choices are

    if bleeding stops
1 her choice to let surgeons operate with slim chance of survival and no guarantee of use of leg- arm etc ..

2 get on with life as best as she can without use of left side and hope bleeding stops ..

3 a forced operation if bleeding doesnt stop ..

and heres the stinger …. all this caused by ……..

a minor car accident last December – a car ran into back of her causing her head to bang on side pillar …

very minor accident with no other problems apart from bump on head .. she did go to doctors at the time , needless to say doctor said nothing to worry about ..

this does put a few things into perspective ..
