hears 1 model that does not need updating .
its never broken down . water bottle cap got jammed once.
the owner is a pensioner Hotpoint came out to check it anyway
the engineer said it does not require any update. he then safety checked the appliance and gave a print out of the loop test safety test.

notice the filter in the door simpler model to what Jim said earlier

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

thanks stratfordgirl im 58 years young. to old in the tooth to-have any hassle of the customers or anyone .
theirs another possibility that the lint leaks this can acur after a breakdown and when you get TOM DICK OR HARRY TO MEND IT.
if or when the bearing jocky wheel or belt snaps .the belt can rap round the motor and it pulls the front of the drum down before finally snapping.
the novice may be able to replace the belt with great difficulty ( no belt fitting tool ).
when the machine is tested there maybe a scraping noise drum rubbing the back panel. it is not always the back panel that at fault.some people try and bend it back.
    the lower front bends
part of the frame behind the front plinth so when the repair is done IE belt etc the dryers looks OK from the top even in when testing it but the lower part of the drum is not completely inserted between 5 and 7 o’clock position theirs a gap air and lint leaking directly into the appliance.
in other words the body bends but its still running and the customers doesn’t care.
the whole design needs to be scraped its basically its been around to long.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

Mr Phil Bowen has been a long customer of mine. the appliance is fine the heater was 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} good so it was worth doing he happy also informed safety notice. but i know for a fact he has not registered it. but as a regular customer anything that will go wrong with the dryer he will contact my self il BER it one day.
as Ken said earlier this problem didn’t exist years ago because they would have service on them regular . most good engineers would clean the bulk of the lint away during the repair ( Which wasn’t or never made Mandatory )

This one is a 1off job AS for refurbishing appliances for making a living those days have long gone its easier to sell a new one. . theirs few hours gone in on that peticuler one back an foe over a few days. And I Would advise anyone doing jobs like cleaning t lint out of dryers to ware a mask its gone do you no good long term the Dust particles you cant see you are inhaling them .
although there are dealers mainly in gum tree( SWANSEA TONS OF THE STUFF THERE) i selling this stuff regular and there not refurbished or cleaned to this stranded. £60.00 . which could end up in hotpoints Lap.
Garn gone for a nap now 😐
