I take the opposite view, ie if you refuse to attend a Hotpoint dryer, the customer is denied the opportunity to have it checked out by a professional, to ensure the airways are clear and to clear any build up of fluff, and thereby reduce the risk of fire. There is no way you could be held accountable for any inherent design weaknesses, when Whirlpool and trading standards have agreed that it is safe for the dryers to continue to be used, as long as you leave the machine in a safe condition and give the customer the correct advice.

fair enough . il try again  .

Adapting wrong panels to fit,not replacing back panel at all,not using P.t.f.e solution,no rivets or incorrectly placed rivets, missing screws, not removing lint from filters.
This is what was forecast would happen if inexperienced people were let loose with a toolbox and a van to rework these dryers.
This reinforces my own decision not to take on the work and even to turn away repair work on Hotpoint dryers.

Iv not taken any HPT Dryer work for months and the end of the day if you repair these appliances before they have been Updated and something goes wrong the BUCK stops with you . any calls i get for the customer are told to contact hotpoint.
its costing me hard cash and im stuk with spares in the van 😕

done this for a customer a couple years ago.
the only freestanding washer would fit is a small Whirlpool . ie 590mm.
make sure you DOUBLE check the manufacturers dimensions .

Theirs a lot of the public that still haven’t registered or checked there dryers.
but my neck of the woods the dryer work has completely dried up,
haven’t had a call for HPT models dryers for a few weeks, it defiantly affecting the trade on the repairs heaters stats V4 bearing kits and belts the bread and butter parts you always carry on board .
Be glad to see the back of this it may take a year or two to recover. until the new updated models start breaking down.

Make 1 of these.c00098111 old Hotpoint Ariston creda belt fitting tool locate the ring And weld the ring washer further up the shaft. its still tight to slide the belt down a bit but it does work on the job and saves a sweat on 😉

Its Save the Trauma of using a very long screwdriver and a crowbar and Claret dripping on the customers floor .

Also DOOR PARTS ONLY WAS and fd numbers of The replacement and always Spares for that Model door .
