ParticipantRe: Bosch Fridge too warm.
Hi Simon
The back should ice up app 3/4 way down and then periodicaly will melt and start all over again, thats its normal cycle.
Is this appliance standing free? to the effect that its not under a work top or next to a heat source as this will drastically effect its operation an may cause permanent damage.Greg

ParticipantRe: Arrow (TEBA) Gas Hob control knob
gunnag wrote:Does any one know to what extent the knobs on gas hobs are interchangeable?
I am trying to source some knobs for a Arrow/TEBA hob but am not having much luck.
Whilst down at my local B&Q I was looking at all the gas hobs on display and noticed that the gas valve “D” spindles appear to be the same size and dimension regardless of the make.
I managed to get a Bosch knob to fit Zanissui, AEG, Indesit, Hotpoint and others. They all appear to have a standard “D” spindle.
This probably means I can get some knobs from another make to fit my TEBA hob. Granted they may not match exactly but at least it would fit the spindle.
Are all gas valve “D” spindles the same?
All comments welcome

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS5002GB/01 drain problem
Its not un heard of to have weird foreign objects in the water matrix thus causing a restriction ie – cardboard, paper.
Try the bucket test and see how you get on.Other than that I can’t think of anything else.Greg

Hi
Ok just to give you more info, the main resons that these trip the safety stat are as follows.
1/ Overloading ie when loaded there isnt a hand width from top of clothes to top of drum
2/ Stopping cycle before the final 10 minutes of cool down (Elimated)
3/ Vent hose kinked, extended or blocked
4/ Vent hose not extracted and machine pushed back against wall or under unit
5/ Fluff filter at the front blocked and not regularly cleaned
6/ In efficient fan operation
7/ Faulty thermostat/s inc safety thermostatHope that helps

ParticipantRe: siemens dishwasher programmer problems?
Hi
It sounds like the usual fault that affects the Bosch appliances.
Before attempting the next operation, please un-plug appliance :plug:Remove the filters inside cavity and mop up the residual water from there.
Then if you remove the lower panel below the door to gain access to the clear ribbed pipe that runs horizontally from the metering unit to the sump.
Pull that pipe off it is only ‘O’ ringed in and clean thoroughly.
That 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time will sort. To stop this from re-occuring you are far better giving the dishes a quick rinse under the tap before loading into machine.

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS5002GB/01 drain problem
Hi
That is incorrect then.
You will have to look for either a restriction in the internal pipes of the appliance, drain hose or check the outlet pipework where the drain hose goes.
You could always aim the drain hose into a bucket and then empty appliance, if all ok then it can only be where it drains into.Greg

Hi
I take it that when you say an inch or so is visible, its actually only visible in the recess after you have removed the filters?
If that is the case then that is correct 😀Greg

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFL 2260 FD 8102 605695 drum not turning
Hi Linda
Thats good news, it did sound bad when you said it was clicking when you turned the drum; thats a good sign of damage to the commutator of the motor where the brushes touch.
To give the best advice now I would change the brushes now to ensure no further or lasting damage to motor. They are relatively cheap compared to a motor and/or module.
If you can give the full model number (around door inner and rear) then I can advise which ones you may require. I will probably need the make of the motor also, either – Siemens or FHP, it will be on a label on the motor.Regards

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFL 2260 FD 8102 605695 drum not turning
Hi
Thats not bad for six years being used more or less semi-commercially, just goes to show what a good machine it was. With the workload you have you would probably be better with a true top loader eg – Maytag or Whirlpool, these would cope easily with your demands.

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFL 2260 FD 8102 605695 drum not turning
Hi
If you can hear a distinct click click as you turn the drum by hand, and combine that with the RCD tripping, it looks like you will be looking at the motor being damaged and possible damage to electronic module.
Just to give you an idea of what parts may be required –Module – 432218 – £93.20
Motor – 141875 – £144.20Prices are ex VAT and postage. If parts are required, then they are available from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk If you feel unable to repair yourself then feel free to locate a local engineer form the link below.
Please remember if you are to attempt any fault finding or repair on the appliance, please un-plug prior :plug:

The number I gave was the part number for the manual. You may be able to obtain it directly from UK 😕 An email to MKS-SPARES@BSHG.COM may be a good start.
