    Kheath

Creda were a good outfit to work for. 10 years ago I was on 17k with the bonus scheme. Then they sold out to Nopoint who expected me to take a wage cut of 4 grand a year! I had to fight them to get basic redundancy after 16 years service Still I have been happily self employed for the last ten years. I will never be rich, but a lot happier than if I worked for that bunch of Tossers

    Re: Dying Trade

I too have been in the same position as you, Wondering when the phone will ring again and will there ever be enough work out there. About 7 years ago a local estate/letting agent called me regarding a small repair to a tenant’s cooker. After carrying out the repair for them for a very reasonable price, I found that my name was passed around most of the agents in my area, and now agent work accounts for about 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my workload. I now carry out a lot of small electrical, general maintenance and plumping jobs on for them. Economy 7 heating and hot water is a good example, I charge £65 to change a top mounted immersion element at a cost of £12 from a local supplier. Most of the jobs are small DIY repairs and if you can fix domestic appliance you could do the same.

Put your name around and stay with it

    AEG BEARINGS

I had the same problem last year, But in the end it had to be a compleat spider. I tried to talk the custome out of it, but he insisted and bought the part himself. Cost about £75

At least i got to fit it

    Teka oven

    Thanks Ted,
I went back to this job today, to measure the grill element so I
Could find an alternative. While I was there I thought I would
Test the element, and found that it was ok. It was the oven switch
At fault after all. Electrue list it at £15.

    Thanks anyway

p.s i know i should have tested it if the first place
but i was in a rush (as usual)

    Hi

I was a Whirlpool service partner for 3 years, And came across
a few Magnet branded whirlpool ovens, To use the grill
you have to set the oven stat to max for the grill to stay on
