If anyone wants to purchase a Megger or Earth loop tester contact Andy Willey at AW Services, they have some second hand ones from the MFI Extracare Engineers available, out of calibration certificate but Andy can get that done for you, quoted me £50 + vat for each meter plus £30 + vat to calibrate each ones, as you know these meters are very expensive new so its good opportunity to get legal at a reasonable price.

Bought one a couple of week ago and found it to be a good bit of kit. Its a AVO BM403/2 and at £50 a real bargain if you compare the price of a new one.

I have used the Beko ones 160100458, I think Beko make some Flavel

I always short the cap before doing any work and I did get a spark, So again it looks like the HT sides OK. Have ordered a mag from AWI will let you know the outcome.

    Re: Microwave Question

Years ago I used to use a Steinal Combi check which being 12v was fine for checking diodes. Using the 12 battery and lamp the diode was off one way and lit the other. I might chance a mag from AWI as the customer is desperate to get it repaired.

    Re: Microwave Question

Got back to the job today and all the measurements are withing range, So other than a faulty mag I’m a bit stumped. I had a bit of a problem testing the diode as AFIR you need a tester or meter with a 12v battery and as mine was only 6v I rigged up a test lamp with one from a 12v car alarm fob.

The Great Whirlpool dishwasher recall! I remember it well 8 to 10 a day at £20 a pop. 6 days a week, Loads of money 😆 I was a lot younger then spent most of it on booze and wimmin, The rest I just wasted.

Same article in the Daily Mail last week, Not an expert on Philips but no way was that a 1964 model. I do have a 1985 Creda TD in the garage which I was a bit disappointed in having to fit a second T.O.C in ten years, Would have complained to the manufactures, But of course they don’t exist anymore 🙁

Never had this happen before, Just chased a parcel through D.H.L from Connect and its listed as: Non delivery due to adverse weather! The City Link guy was out and about this afternoon though. No wonder I Use Masterpart wherever possible.
