    Re: Teka UK Bust?

We had no real problems with Teka, work was low volume though but nice as an add on, i mainly had oven elements, blocked pumps & module problems on dishwashers. It was much better working for them direct. When we started working on Teka products it was through GB DAR and they were S**t.

Hey if things are not good with RC, do you think Teka will dig out there old service agent list and be in contact ?.

Wonder if there will be any problem with the spares side of connect ?, i seen on the other forums that they seem to be using a cheaper courier 😯 !. We get 90 {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of our spares from them

I sold a shaver to Noel Edmunds really nice guy, used to sort out tv problems for Michelle Dotrice ( frank spencers missus ) & Edward Woodward. But ive not met anyone else famous recently. One sort of famous guy i respect & had a job interview with was Sim Harris he was hostage in the 1982 iranian embassy siege in london, he quite high up in the BBC & does appear on tv from time to time.

Hello, 3 weeks now its been very quiet, if it was not for the warranty work & sales i doubt i could make ends meet, its the same old story Cuts are mentioned again on the news and people stop spending, how long can companies that have overheads like shops, staff on the road etc carry on ?, maybe its just us in the south west at the moment, i spoke to a service agent who works for one of the manufactures he covers Devon & Cornwall averaging about 3 jobs a day !.

Re: You want to charge me HOW MUCH!

We find the same problem when ordering parts for customers, i now always take a card payment over the phone before ordering, and the amount of times we have customers slamming the phone down on us when we tell them we have a £20 call out charge is getting more and more !. There is a few repairers in our area doing the free call out & estimates , good luck to them i remember all the running around for nothing in the browngood days learnt my lesson then. Luckily most of the repair work we do is warranty, but im sure things will get harder as finiancial pressure on households increases.

    Re: work dead

Work here in the Plymouth area is quiet, theres sporadic amounts of calls, im finding more debt problems and bouncing cheques, least today i have managed to sort a mobile card machine, i do feel more and more that the whitegoods trade is going down the same road as what happened to the browngoods. Lets hope im wrong and that things in the next year will improve.

Yes that is the laser power adjustment, sometimes it works if you adjust it slighty clockwise but to be honest i would replace the laser, the adjustment is factory preset and does not require setting up. the shaft & gear also could do with some grease when the new laser is fitted as it looks dry. Regards Geoff

Hi, its usually one of 2 things most commonly the opticial pickup ( laser unit )is yours a KSS213B or KSS210A there should be a label by the wiring connector on the laser unit. Spindle motors also give trouble but this usually will be lots of skipping on tracks esp the last ones of the cd. I would take a guess at laser first. Regards Geoff
