Cheers guys, found out the fault was in the cable even though there was no apparent damage, tried the the usual place at the plug, wasn’t that so just replaced whole cable

    Cheers Phidom,

at the smallest it is around 3 mm and the largest around 5mm so I’ll order some new brushes and see how it goes,

    thanks again

forgot to ask, is it safe to use in the meantime IE: I wont do any damage using it while the brushes are worn?

    Re: Belling integrated Washer/Dryer SGE 12 X

I Jumped to the wrong conclusion, it’s not the washing machine that’s tripping the RCD, it’s the flamin dishwasher (in my defence I didn’t know it was on, still feel dumb about it though) the dishwasher is a belling IDW 603 and as I say there was a bang and every time I switch it on the RCD in the main fuse box trips, I think it’s the main suppressor, a smal white circular plastic tube type thing that is quite black on the bottom with the bottom tube bit slightly blown out, would I be right on this? I’ll also do a seperate post in the dishwasher forum

I managed to get it going again, for any of you that get the same problem, heres how I did it, I took out the motor, took it apart and cleaned the coil/magneto (is this what it’s called, the inside spindle that turns the pump?) cleaned the surfaces in the inside and also cleaned out the pump, seems to be working okay now, will it last? don’t know only time will tell, if it breaks down again I will let you know.
