Re: Diplomat 8332 – red lights, unresponsive

I’m no engineer, but if you hold down the start button, it’s on the left hand side. Hold it in for 4 or 5 seconds it goes back to responsive mode. Hopefully.

The counter is the delay time, and it means the wash won;t start until one hours delay.

If you close the door and wait for one hour it will probably start.

Re: Soap filling up outlet pipe

It’s a Hotpoint, but dad couldn’t furnish me with model, etc. The hose is hooked into the drain, and only uses the normal hose, not an extended one or anything, and it’s not at a precarious angle. When he unhooks the hose and puts it into a basin, the water whooshes (technical term) out, so no blockage.

He said there is no way wash back from the sink could get into the hose, so no lamb fat in the vicinity!

They use powder, and the occasional bleach tablet to clean out the machine.

The sausage was all soap, no fluff, or bits of clothes.

Could the hose be scarred internally and be hording bits of soap, then builds up inside (kind of like a stalactite).

    Look forward to your suggestions..!

    Re: AEG – OK?

I am probably using the unbranded label incorrectly, I mean those that are the “in house” appliances. Other half is a builder and has trade accounts at the merchants, so we can get their makes and models. So when I am quoting £150 its a diplomat, or an unbranded Magnet model, which might be a samsung (that was a guess, dunno if they do fridges).

As for outstanding, I only heat up and grill in an oven. Don’t need a “pizza” setting, or any of the other 6 or so settings. And just heat up things on a hob.

I think AEG will do for me, and thanks for the link to the manufacturers listing, will check there before posting again.

    PS Loving the site!

That sounds ok to me, in my limited knowledge.

Don’t know if you are still looking, but I have a second cleaner for quick once overs and it’s a POD, I think it’s a morphy richrds, but it is purple and bagless. The cable goes back in and it stands on its end with the hose hooked into the belly. The bag is easy to take off and empty, also takes a good bashing against the edge of my bin to get rid of stoor.

It only cost about £30 and has done my timber floors for about 3 years. I have two labradors (black) and oak floors (worst combination!) and it picks up all the hair and stuff no probs.

It does carpets too, my wool rug attracts dog hair and it cleans that very well.

    Good luck with the search.

Took the top of the machine in the hope that a loose wire would be sticking out and obvious. No such luck. Made sure all connections where tight, then put the lid back on, and belive it or not everything now works!!

Does this make me a washing machine repair person..?

Re: Powder vs Liquid vs Tablets?

My step mum told me that LIDL or ALDI washing power came out top in a magazine about getting whites white. She put’s my dads sport socks in a hot wash and they used to come out with grey soles.

She used the discount store powder, and now they are back to their original white!! Sorry can’t remember which store’s powder it is, but is cheap so buy both!

I don’t have any of these stores near me, but might make a trip to see.

Re: Diplomat ADP 8332 F7 Fault

Had to call out engineer and he was a bit lost until I showed him your post.

He eventually found the flow meter, after I read out the post…

He took the connection off and blew into it…seriously.

He put it back on and it worked.

Paid him and said cheerio. I have now written the instructions of how to do it myself for future reference. I was looking in the back of the machine, but apparently everything is on the side of my machine…

Re: Diplomat ADP 8332 F7 Fault

Ok, I will be unplugging and trying this out tonight.

I spent about 15 mins last night trying to get it to work, ended up inthe huff. It seems to work for a couple of nights then gives up again (F7).

I can imagine that there might be sweetcorn/porridge in the drain on the way out, but how does an inlet pipe block intermittantly (assuming it is a flow-in problem).

As I say, I’ll get hubby to try and fix it tonight (and I will remove the plug.)

Re: Powder vs Liquid vs Tablets?

When my clothes dry, either outside or over a chair, they sometimes seemed a little “crispy”. Is that a sign that the power/soap isn’t being rinsed very well? There’s not a white residue, just slightly starchy.

I was in a hard water area, but used the anti-calcium tablets once or twice a week. Now I’m back on normal water, but haven’t managed that much washing due to pesky washer (another thread).

    Re: Whirlpool AWM 5125/5

I think it’s heating, at least the washing is coming out all clean. Did two washes last night and it went thru the cycles completely! Then put one on before going to bed, checked it this morning and it had stuck on one of the rinses, clicked it over then it stopped just after the A again.

Intermittent fault, are they the worst??

    Re: Baumatic B180 Oven

Thank you for your suggestions. I check it out, there are no engineers in my area (Scottish Borders) so it might be a bit of DIY.
