Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

Should anyone actually take on any Hotpoint/Creda/Indesit dryer service calls now, knowing they are subject to this recall?

Even the ones we do see. 😉 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of Hotpoint dryer repairs are bearings, belts, pulleys, stats etc, all mainly cost effective repairs unlike sealed washer drums and non programmed pcb’s.

Does anyone know if it is just a back panel and stud or does it include a new heater assy?

Re: Indesit WIE 147 fault, Help Needed.

That is just it, the error code relates to several faults and no one fix cures it first time.
The cost of a new circuit board which is one of the most common causes is more than the machine is worth.

You could start by tightening all the flimsy connections between the circuit board and the heater/ntc. then test the heater for insulation faults. Then change the pressure switch, then change the main circuit board, then …………. 😮

    Re: Hotpoint TCM580P condenser dryer

Changing parts on the off chance it might fix it is not the way to proceed. Whenever a machine is tripping the circuit breakers then a full inspection of all components for insulation leaks with a suitable multimeter or better still a megger is the only way to go, throwing parts at a machine is rarely successful .These machines are known to throw water onto the heater if the large condensor is not cleaned on a very regular basis. Also the channel and small drain hole at the very back of the condensor chamber can get clogged up.

Usually a good blast with a hair dryer is all that is needed on the element.

Going out shortly for my birthday meal so will send it to you ASAP.

A simple continuity test ( with the mains plug removed from wall socket ) is all that is required.
