Not really Cliff, just one for a squash/racketball ball mates mother in law. Otherwise I keep a very low profile.

ModeratorThanks Dave, seems the old grey matter is still working after all these years away from the coal face.

ModeratorThree totally different ISE 5 machines made by Beko, Vestel and Amica. The Beko and Amica had brush gear motors whilst the Vestel used a 3 phase motor. What is the model number on the facia? The Beko and Amica did occasionally have tacho wiring related problems. Worth checking the motor brushes if it is either of those two. I’m guessing it will be either Vestel or Amica as the Beko did not have a digital display.

ModeratorLink to manual sent. Would be worth pulling out the thermistor and having a look at it for any signs of water contamination.

ModeratorLooking at the wiring diagram it’s not obvious but I suspect the wiring from the three terminal pcb edge tag may go to the ntc/ thermistor. This was clipped to the side of the outer drum on most models and occasionally suffered from water ingress. Again a long shot but worth checking out.:)
Do you have access to the full service manual?

ModeratorA bit of a long shot but as the visible damage is near the door release button you could check the door interlock for any signs of failure.

ModeratorThe board listed in the shop here is a whopping £250. I strongly suspect that even though still listed it will be NLA. The original manufacturer of the ISE, a company called ASKO was taken over many years ago first by Italian manufacturers Antonio Merloni, then later by Slovenian firm Gorenje who in turn were swallowed up by Chinese company Hisense. All this upheaval does make parts for older appliances very sketchy to say the least. Whilst there should be a full wiring diagram under the lid we never had any board level information at all. As Dave has already suggested this sort of fault is usually as a result of failures elsewhere.:(

ModeratorGiven the cost of the board, the fact you can reset it and the age of this appliance doing the reset would be the best option IMHO. The main pcb is in the base at the front.

ModeratorHave copied and pasted in case that image is not clear.
When this model is first switched on after delivery, the message display will either scroll through in
several languages or may show a particular language.
The correct language must be selected before the dishwasher can be used – THIS IS NOT A FAULT !
Selecting the language:
1. Press the ON/OFF button, you will hear a short beep and the display will show the set language.
2. Use the DELAYED START button to scroll forwards, or the HALF LOAD button to scroll backwards
through the list until you reach the desired language.
3. Press the P button to confirm the selection; you will then automatically enter the list of wash cycles.
Every time the dishwasher is switched on subsequently, the list of wash cycles will be displayed.
Changing the language:
The language may also be changed at a later date, by pressing the P button and the DELAYED
START button simultaneously for a few seconds. Then go to action 1 above to set the languageiadom
