ModeratorThis is the label from my own ISE1607W. The black thing under the label is the top of the door seal.

ModeratorThis ISE model was produced in Sweden before the full Gorenje take over. The door seal on this machine does not get holes in it.

ModeratorI never actually installed one of those later ECO models so never actually worked on them. The one real problem with the ISE 10 range was the fact that they were so reliable. It’s easy to build up a knowledge base of faults on less reliable appliances, not so with these. Not sure just how good QER are at successfully repairing the pcb’s either.:(

ModeratorThe jockey pulleys used to be a common cause of this fault but I think this machine has a direct belt drive without jockey pulleys. A stretched or worn belt could give these symptoms. Worn drum front bearing pads, rear earthing strip, failed rear bearing/ drum shaft can all cause noise.

ModeratorGood to hear from you Alex, do you still have relations in the Mossley area? The Burnley firm was possibly ELDAR, Eddie Laycocks company. He has very recently retired and sold the business to Steve Burns, a former WTA member and former DASA chairman.

I just fully dismantled it partly to see how easy / hard the bearing replacement might be on a similar machine if I ever wanted to do that. Fair to say it is quite a strip down :)…
.
As the vast majority of appliances currently on the market have totally sealed outer drums and have had for many years the number of bearing changes these days is almost nil.:(
