    K.

I admire your optimism K and there is undoubtedly going to be a big change. I for one fear a massive increase in stealth taxes that will heap further misery on a large portion of the populace.

Whilst I am no longer ‘active’, it is definitely a good idea. A separate forum as opposed to the single thread in Trade Tech would be far more accessible. Would you keep it trade only or open to the public?

To be perfectly honest you will be very lucky to find anything for that extremely old dishwasher. I have an old service manual for a slightly later model that is dated 1996 and it was not far of being declared obsolete even then.:(

Interesting topic, out of the loop for over six years now and not sure what I would buy myself in the future?:(

You will even miss him slagging you off for promoting Bosch Don? đŸ˜€ To be fair he was never rude but the way he jumped into threads that had already been fully answered and resolved did annoy me a little. Not sure I ever managed to get to the end of any of his posts tbh.

Dave, can you order that seal for me please. Also send me your contact phone number via PM if you can. He can collect it from you if that’s ok.

    Thanks.

    Jim.

He has just been quoted £55 for the seal from ESpares. Can you get me one for less?

I can see a couple in the site shop, not sure if they will fit?

Even the EPDM seal was discontinued by Hotpoint. In cases were it was not possible to avoid using the creams such as young children with severe eczema or older incontinent adults I used to advise pre soaking any grease or cream contaminated clothing for 24 hours before rinsing and washing. This did appear to help reduce the problem in most cases. I even had one that I eventually identified as being caused by the customers daughter using excessive amounts of fake tan which she applied with body oils. This then contaminated her bedding. You could even see the faint colour of the tanning powder on the seal.

Still waiting for him to send me a picture which would confirm my suspicions. I remember Hotpoint used to supply what I called the ‘Chip shop gasket’. It was made of EPDM and was three or four times the cost of the standard one. It was a real pain when the 1850 model had a black rubber door seal, sticky black goo everywhere.
Still not getting email notifications either.:(
