Missed all of the fun, once again I was at Old Trafford watching Lancashire beat Derbyshire in a T20. Fingers crossed you will get another few years out of the old thing. 😎

Should only be two wires to the pump, the old pump may also have had an earth wire which is not needed on the new pump. The connections are slightly different but it is possible to fit the original connectors to the new pump as long as you make sure they are insulated from each other. Don’t worry about pump wattage, that pump will be fine.

NB. It doesn’t matter which terminals you put the two wires back on.

Yes, it won’t work full stop. Debhor is for sealing hoses to drums, It is not for sealing moving parts. That pump is correct.

Thats a perfectly suitable replacement, you will need to find two small self tapping screws to screw into that green support bracket.

I’m at Old Trafford watching Lancashire atm, the standard pump used on these fitted all Hotpoint machines made for many years. The hoses clips are easily accessible from behind the small lower back panel. Unless of course someone has taken them off in the past and not refitted them correctly.

    probably this one

Large pliers or mole grips can be used on the clips. Just tilt the machine forward to access the screws underneath, no need to lie it flat.

Have you watched the machine by removing the lower back panel?

Very common to remove that hose clip to allow better access. Possible that you may have disturbed something as you pushed and heaved the machine around. Not easy for us to know without actually getting hands on or with visuals of the machine.

I should have said it’s easy when you have done it literally thousands of times.

Never, ever found those clips a problem easy to flip on with finger and thumb.
