ModeratorStill not getting email notification of your last post. Just checked on Cableforum and they are using VB version 3.8.11. Always seems to work very smoothly, never see spam messages, click on a persons username to send PM’s etc.
One other thing that doesn’t seem to be working correctly. If I click on the +Reply to Thread link directly under the far left of the last post nothing happens, even though I have altered my settings profile to use full WYSIWYG editor. There is only this ‘Quick Reply’ box available unless you select Go Advanced at the bottom right which then opens the full box of tricks, but above all the posts on the page and not underneath them as it should when you select the +Reply to Thread button.
Also the link at the top of the page entitled Private Messages seems to be a link to full user CP.

ModeratorHave also noticed when checking my private messages that dozens of messages I deleted months and even years ago have re appeared?

As you may remember I did mention years ago that another forum I frequent has used VB for 20 years or more, I am apparently subscribed to this thread but poking around in my profile settings I had to alter the notifications settings, they where set to ‘Through my control panel’, I changed it to the ones in this pic, also noticed some links to Moderation actions at the bottom of the screen .;)
Actually changed it to instantly via email, weird why the screen dump shows ‘Weekly using email’ ???iadom

Checked at the top of the page and the only option in Thread Tools is ‘Unsubscribe’ 😉 Didn’t get notification of your post either. Also checked my list of post subscriptions in my profile and it lists this one and the ‘Forum Upgrade’ thread.

ModeratorCan we still see the moderator logs as before?

ModeratorFinally managed to log back in. Problems yesterday confirm what Martin has just said, I was using my iPad yesterday and due to my faffing around and having difficulty in seeing the tiny text boxes I managed to get myself permanently banned. 🙂

ModeratorRe: indesit oven fan motor
Two different motors. Assuming that is the serial number you have given then motor is a C00081589.

ModeratorRe: Washer Electrical Fault?
It suggests the socket itself is faulty, loose contact in socket or mains plug, that is assuming the led you mention is on the socket and not the machine. 😉

From the manual,
(a) Plastic plinth in free-standing appliances: Remove the two front screws which secure the plinth in position, pull the plinth forwards and release it from the side panels.
There are two screws holding the plinth to the front of the appliance. If you hold the door down you will see them, access not easy, a long magnetic screwdriver helps or removing the outer door panel if you can’t reach the screws.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint WD440 is tripping main’s RCD
Not using the dryer heater can lead to this type of failure, a very common fault on Zanussi washer dryers more so than Hotpoint. Lack of use allows moisture to build up in and around the element.

TBH a meggar is much better for proper insulation tests. Even with a multimeter you should disconnect both wires from the element and then test between either terminal and any nearby earthing point. With your meter set to the ohms setting you should get something like 0.L on screen. Any reading other than that indicates some current leakage, as a meggar puts 500 volts through it will show up poor insulation far better than a basic multimeter.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint WD440 is tripping main’s RCD
Guessing you mean the dryer heating element and not the wash element.
You do not test for continuity but for insulation leaks.
The simple fact that it works with heater disconnected suggests an earth fault on the element.

Remove the white plastic plinth along the front to access the screw holding the bottom edge of the side panel.
