ParticipantI’m sure I had the same problem about a year ago, a machine we had supplied to the customer and was about three years old. I diagnosed the module, Bosch engineer then attended and replaced the module for just a labour charge as ‘Good Will’ gesture.

ParticipantThanks Kaibart
IT WAS THE PROBE!
The genuine module supplied by Smeg was NOT the same as the original fitted to the Range. It had no documentation with it to say it was an ‘alternative’ or that any conversion was necessary! Not a problem though as, fortunately, it was the probe!
Thank you all for the comments and advice, it was much appreciated!
Cheers Jason

ParticipantBoard and sensing probe on their way to me, switch out of stock. I’ll let you know the outcome!
Thank you alljason1970
ParticipantIt is Dave, yes and it does appear to be working correctly.

ParticipantThanks Gents. The function selector switch is a pcb, not a mechanical type. I will plug away at it and get to the bottom though! I have checked the TOCs and seem ok, so the sensing probe is a possibility. Other than that I’m looking at the module still. I’ll let you know how I get on! Thanks all for your ideas!

ParticipantGood Evening Gents.
I ordered the door switch and the door locking mechanism from Smeg. I was able to get back the customer today and fit them. Unfortunately the original fault is still present? Any other suggestions, wiring diagrams etc.? I have very little experience on these Smeg ranges.
Thank you in advance.

ParticipantThank you for the comments Dave and Ken. The oven does indeed have a door switch but that does seem to be working? Also if the switch was faulty, why would it allow two of the oven functions to work? I did see a locking mechanism, tbh, never seen this on an oven before. How do they work and what affect will it have on the operation of the oven? As you can see, lacking a little experience in these complicated Ranges so really appreciate your thoughts.

ParticipantRe: Ebac E care washing machines
We sold a couple purchased from a distributor in the West Midlands. They were basic machines but ideal for older customers who especially liked that they were made in Great Britain. The distributor no longer sells them as he felt Ebac wanted to sell retail and not (through distributors) to the trade?

ParticipantRe: Bosch washers not resetting after F21 error
Hi Gents Sorry slow replying I’ve been away.
Aqualectric, honestly? Is it April 1st? A different set of fingerprints?!?!
Iadom, glad it’s not just me. I was showing a trainee how to do it once, I spent 15 minutes trying and it wouldn’t reset, he tries and it resets first time!
I like Bosch machines but sometimes ………………………..jason1970

Oh well, might be just me then!

ParticipantRe: Bosch washers not resetting after F21 error
Hi Dave, neither did I before. Occasionally, as I said, probably 1 in 10 wouldn’t (especially if it tripped when the worn brushes arced) but not normally a problem. Of late many not resetting even after spending 10 minutes carefully going through the sequence????
I thought the same about weight sensing but the movement seems to small??
Anyone else have any thoughts?
ThanksJason

Hi Lawrence. It was a Siemens. TBH I’m not refrigeration trained so any info on how to test the compressor etc. would be good to read. As I say, I think I understand the process of the evaporator and the condenser. The movement and expansion etc of the gas but just any practical info would be appreciated!
