    Re: JTM again!

    Hi Mike0800,
Can you explain why l read in the ERT Magazine 11/03/11 that LG have a done deal with D&G which includes all warranty matters and they also have quoted that Service will be done by thier D&G service network… Makes you think dont it!! So the question is… Are LG gonna use two work providers, in my experience l dont think so, its gonna go to the D&G engineers Good news for those engineers….

No l think its OK to do the work but be wary on payments and also spares returns You must have the balls to stop work if your not being paid properly and its very hard to have that policy when your getting work from work providers and having to pay your Engineers… Remember l had these problems with Candy and Zanussi many years ago so l am very cautious about these big firms ditating the action Hope l have not been too negative on JTM but these work providers have got to realise that Engineers have to paid in a right and proper manner

Yes Spanner51… You get charged for all spares and this is contra against all the invoice for that month but remember the parts sent can be so long time coming that the retailer such as Argos have had so much flak from the customer and had to exchange appliance then the invoice for the said spare has to be credited in the course of the close down…This where you have to be on the spot checking and double checking to get payments in a proper business like manner

Very interesting comments Jediknight…l would love to know what the major client is? With the situation as it is,l have to put them on Credit stop most months,it tends to focus thier minds in the call centers to get the monies for the months work also we always have had to wait approx 2months for payments …l would like to say that in all the years l have been doing service work for different compaines since the sixties l have never put a client on credit stop its unbelievable that this policy has been introduced by myself and the company…Just imagine if l had Engineers to pay it just aint gonna work because of the uncertainty of being paid by what is considered a professional work provider

There’s some redundancies within JTM also although we now do jobs in area piles its still a bit dodgy….. l am sticking with it at the mo, but make sure you get the parts back for credit if the jobs are closed down as they dont tell you..you have to find out!!! also l have noticed that we get all the c**p jobs and not the nice easy ones where l dont have to put the brain in gear , the easy jobs seem to go to the 0800 lads Another interesting fact is that Haier are gonna sell to the indepdants and the servicing will be done by JTM They have bin asking questions what we do and what we dont.. hmm!!

Yes Sparrowhawk We have noticed and now collate the calls accordingly so the calls are going to get delayed… they must remember that fuel costs are now sky high and most contractors are having to pay very high costs per job… Although they treat me like an out of work homosexual l must be their most loyal contractor l really dont why l do it but there you go …i’m still sticking with it!!!! l wonder how the 0800 boys are managing??
