Hey This was the original idea of DASA to be a body to promote their members as a professional and trustworthy Companies to the Domestic Appliance Trade but over the years it has become bastardised thro the ideas of the few, and really all they are interested in is da money from da members, l really do think the intentions when l was a member of DASA were good, it was considered as prestige and professional ,but l wonder in amazement now… also yes l am a member of WTA of which l consider much more in touch with the present trade climate and not as old fashioned and out of touch as DASA

Gosh ..you guys are talking my lingo here. What should be happin to the Trade is as follows ..Set up a proper trade association were no Work Provider or Manufacturer is allowed to join only proper indpendant traders and Service Engineers then such people within the trade would have a proper and just voice, and if it was succesful these so called men in suits running the, what l call cowboys of the trade i.e manufacturers and insurance companies who have the wealth to extol how good they are in most trade magazines would have to take notice, or am l in cloud cookoo land.. just thought!!!

    Re: 0800 Repair

Yeah.. What a lot load of old dismal backward 18th century thinking DASA is, the faster the trade which l have been working in since 1967 come to the decision that DASA is just a crusty heap of old has beens the better the trade will be if they wern;t there .. They just do not get it do they…… Get a life all the decent traders are still here and most of the cowboys and their spanners have gone on to rip people off in some other trade, and is it really important if 0800 are members ,who gives a stuff, l dont!!! My customer base still use our company and that is whole lot more important than, who, l have just forgotton ,Oh yes DASA

Hey your right OT it was 1979 when we were members coz l think if i’m right and maybe you can correct me but it was started by a Zanussi agent cannot think of his name in Sussex and then Chris Hayter was the chief honcho Dont time fly l did not realise how long it was.. anyway that when our company started up in 1979 .. l still am going think my thoughts though despite what you guys think!!!! Its a free world and if you wanna pay da dues then go ahead… but l aint!!!!

    Re: 0800 Repair

Hey Guys ..We were original members of DASA approx 25 years ago and we left around 1998 it was rubbish then, it might have improved by now but l doubt it!!! l do work for anybody including JTM only if we get paid !!!Does that mean l have DASA membership l dont think so …also…Mike dont get het up.. this trade aint gonna get any better as l have been in this trade since 1967 and l have not seen any improvements with the whole trade and people like the WTA are really trying to make it better, more so than DASA.. l am probably the most cynical person to talk about this trade in general because l have been treated with absolute disregard from all the major manufacturers and work providers dont mention D&G thats another story just remember when you are employing engineers that your company has spent money and time training with a proper apprenticeships, People like JTM now calling themselves 0800 do not seem to appreciate the engineers they have… this is reflected with the paltry call fees they are paying, its dog eat dog!! WHERES DASA.. no where to be seen, they aint interested!!!! Lastly if the work provider insists on membership to DASA.. Yes l am afraid its Get Stuffed!!

    Re: 0800 Repair

    Hey Jonah
Dont it make you laugh, They are finding it very hard that good old companies like ours have who would go anywhere for the likes of work these providers is slowly coming to an end, remember l was covering right down to the devon borders for JTM until l found that, guess wot.. we wernt getting paid. so now we do a very small area for these people and l find they are always on the phone asking if we can call in other area,s Wiltshire is another area that there is no cover how the hell they manage l dont know but again they ring in hope that we will say yes..NO NO NO we say and off they go but they dont understand fuel prices etc..They have gone up and l cannot understand why they treat contractors like they do.. when l have raised the issue with the so called men in charge they change the subject pretty fast They probably think i’m an agitator and just love winding them up ….l do l do l do!!!

    Re: JTM again!

l just know how you feel about the payments l have had enough and l am about to get shot of the whole affair l always gave JTM the benefit of the doubt, but now l joined the ranks of Steven just remember our areas are very close to each other, so who is gonna do the work???? 0800 l expect!!! but if they treat loyal agents such as Steven and his company like this, how do they treat and pay the 0800 boys …l have done around 160 or so jobs in the areas l cover since Jan 1st 2011 and guess what they sent me a cheque for £115.00 l cant run my 911 with sort of payments….no l joke!!! This is now a serious matter and they have been on credit stop for over a month whilst, Carol in our offices has been tearing her hair out trying to get a proper payment structure , there accounts dept are in complete disarray but theres no way JTM comprehend the importance of looking after a loyal and decent Engineering Companies such as ours and others it seems.. No, l think its time we also say goodbye JTM but they aint gonna get away without paying if that what they think coz l am now on the warpath

    Yeah
l think l must be about 16th tier coz l do not get any LG work unless its in the most obscure TA or BA postcode probably middle of Exmoor or Salisbury Plain dodging tanks l did know that IDSAL do the work but was quite surprised about the artical in the ERT Mag……

    Re: JTM again!

Dont really like that word agent, have had so many bad vibes in the past…. No they have never sent me any work although l have been invited to their training course abiet only the one … which seems strange but there you go…l think they would only use our company when nobody else wants the job within the area we cover ….
