First question how warm is your utility room? if it is colder than your garage this could be your problem at this time of year. If it has only one thermostat in the fridge compartment it will remain off till the room warms up, do you have an orange switch inside the fridge this operates a heater to help in cold enviorments.

Sold a F/F delivered it to a ground floor flat, old unit was outside and was asked to take it away, it was an old unit and dropped it straight of at the dump.
A few hours later got an irate phone call from the man of the house wanting it back told him it was dumped and he wouldn’t beleive it, took him up the dump after a lot of abuse, and of course there it was all smashed.
He got inside it and removed about half a kilo of puff he thought we had taken it.

Thanks Lads for your trouble I was trying to get back on their own sight as I lost the connection when my computer crashed.
I ordered an element from kitchen economy for a Flavel oven and it didn’t arrive! might tomorrow but I wanted to look at one to save a screaming row if it is wrong, I would rather have the agro on the phone.I promised without fail to do it Thurs so every one Ive got I’m taking.
I got the part number from connect tonight FVLP 026810 or 6291001028
but what does it look like ? the Flavel is just a square one? 14 x 14 roughly.Kirk.

Talking about in the garage I’ve got two antique wooden Machines lovely peace of simple engineering.
1. Miele round tub with wankle handle .
2. Ewbank as in the carpet sweepers this was so well made and designed if they had fitted a motor we would never have any work.
Had them in the shop and local Bank for years, but I suppose the exposed cogs and pulley’s! you would be prosecuted or someone would make a claim for trapping their fingers.
Mind you if anyone wants them let me know they are just getting ruined now.

Thanks guys for all your input, so penguin 45 and others know I don’t hide behind a false name I am Norman Kirkland and due to my son and I in a previous life working for Comet! that was how they named me so I left it that way so if any old friends came on like charlieboy they would know me.

My son works for Stoves and got called to a cooker with burnt out terminal block customer had fitted a chocolate block to get it going.
He goes in this stinking house 10 dogs and 15 cats looks at the cooker and refuses to work on it! phones me up to say a job from stoves will be coming to me and it did and generally I just grin and bear these smelly filthy calls.
I’ve got the cooker turned round as far as the cable will reach and happily!
working away when I feel this warm water on my bald head! ….ing cat up on the kitchen unit had sprayed on me, it turned out the cat was always doing it down the back of the cooker and it failed insulation test he is now taking it up with Stoves, so hopefully my son will have to go back. luckly it was the last call of the day.Kirk

ParticipantRe: belling d/w idw 605
Did you get it sorted I have code for latest but does not say if it is 605
it says E7 water level sensed at pressure switch- no Data from Flow meter- not turning.
The most common fault I have had with integrated is kinked hose due to lack of space and is is allways in new houses.Kirk

ParticipantRe: Bosch Max WFL2800 Boiling
Hi Penguin, I did not know of internal fuses? to me this is just a straight forward element with an NTC.
The machine of course did not boil dry every time it boiled water away it refilled, of course if the customer had not been out for 9 hours it would probably just melted the facia.
I can not comprehend no thermal safety cut out now adays, how much would it cost?
Surely if the message from the NTC does not register on the board there should be a simple cut out.Kirk

ParticipantRe: Bosch Max WFL2800 Boiling
Sorry Martin did not read all your reply properly.
The NTC plug was all correct as I have come across that before, but of course did not test it back to module! I would have thought a fail safe system would have been built in to stop overheating in such an event.Kirk

ParticipantRe: Bosch Max WFL2800 Boiling
Thanks for the reply Martin, the model number may not be correct as I did not need to order anything and had heater in stock.
Pressure chamber was the first thing I checked it is a common fault in this hard water area.
I did wonder how she could fill on 90 and move it on as generally they MT and restart but did not give serious thought, most other machines one has pause or cancel before you can change it.
But you did not say if you had come across one boiling in this way how can it do it?Kik

ParticipantRe: hotpoint wma32 washer, drum lifters breaking
I would agree totally with SpakyP. When bearings go in the direct drive machine it leaks into the motor and will take out the rotor windings.
The worst fault is the noise that they make and all the different things ones try’s to overcome them, and has been said many times on this site their technical help is appalling.Kirk

ParticipantRe: Comet Service Corgi
Well Comet have now got their multiskilled Corgi engineers delivering and installing gas cookers.
They have to be at the central distribution centre for 7am meet up with the van driver then go out on eight deliveries and install them, they are not getting back till about eight pm no overtime get in their cars and drive home. The van driver gets overtime.
They all take turns of a week each, how many engineers want to be deliverie boys. Stoves at least delivers them and then the engineer connects.
So instead of paying a contractor £49 they get it done for £10 and charge £79 someone is looking for big brownie points.
So it looks that it might be a good time to advertise for engineers, most with Comet earn around the London area are on £18000 + London waiting £2500 very few are on £21000.Kirk

I have changed two stats in this range recently using the extra long Danfoss no3 stat, the one that is used in the Vestfrost. Customers have been satisfied.

ParticipantRe: Why………….
We have it all the time in our area, it use to bug me but now I look on it as an easy call so don’t tell the drivers off.
