ParticipantRe: Dyson DC14 motor suppressor capacitor
It will not be the supp/cap at all,I’m afraid your barking up the wrong tree.
New motor is the only way to go.

Hi
Better than washing…….would you put your best suit in the washing machine??
Sebo also have the duo machine,in which the two large brushes contra rotate.kladave
ParticipantRe: Dyson DC04 drops vacuum
The switch is faulty inside the motor cover, thus only giving you half power/speed.

ParticipantRe: Van Stocks
Since day one when the first 5mk1 van stock was delivered I have been meticulous in keeping it completely separate from my own stock. In fact I do not carry it on the van 😉 at all unless I know I am going to do an ISE call. I have recently transfered it to a new cardboard box though. 😀
The only crossover has been in recent weeks when I have used three sets of gen Hoover carbons from my own stock in the possibly futile hope that it would alleviate my current rash of motor failures.
I was issued with a motor as van stock at a very early stage but just now I feel as though I could do with at least a couple on hand.
From the original issue I have used several motors and brushes, one drain pump, two fill valves, two or three PCB’s, one door seal and one drain outlet hose that had suffered from a rodent attack.
Parts used that were not part of the original issue are three or four tub gaskets and one set of suspension units damaged by leaks from the aforementioned gaskets.
I have been issued with a couple of these gaskets but a pair of suspension units would not go amiss.
Also had three drum rear halves with motor bracket failure. As I am not familiar with BEKO over a four to five year period I do not know if this is was a small local problem or if motor support failure is something that is common in older BEKO machines. If it is then a rear drum half for agents who are heavily exposed to ISE5 mk 1’s should be considered.
I do not repair BEKO or any other ISE related machines in any volume, and have never had to ‘borrow’ any ISE stock to repair them.
As for Vestel produced 2’s & 5’s I have used door locks, one PCB with a spin on wash fault and one fill valve, but it is early days.
Chris has covered most of the ‘what if that fails, theres nowt else I can improvise with’ parts on Vestel machines.
Now i think Jim has tried to have a little dig at me from my earlier comment.
But what do you do,when you notify admin of part required on tuesday13/1/09 and by the time i’m writing this the part still has not arrived, customers of mine expect a swifter service than this 😳Dave

MIH has now stated that he is singing samsungs praises

I cannot say if that’s good or great advice, accurate or just safe territory. I’m not a white goods engineer.
I really do feel though that if Joe public walks into a shop and purchases an appliance, that appliance should perform in a satisfactory manner from day one and for a “reasonable” period of time. To accept anything below this level simply because “not enough money was spent” is wrong.
If a manufacturer offered a five year guarantee it would make a bold statement. Most offer one or two years. Purchasing an extension to this appears a simple solution for minimal cost.
Samsung and Proline (Comet) have both come good with me of late so I’m happy to sing their praises at the moment. ‘
