Re: D&G independent network/GB DAR work

No surprise at the write-off levels, that’s one of the reasons we dropped the GBDAR work as I was fed up be paid a half fare for an increasing amount of calls.

I am also not surprised that these machines are not being replaced by a Servis again, well given the BER rate on them it’s hardly a shock, but DAG will probably replace with whatever is either economically sensible or what they have an “arrangement” for. Remember DAG are not a retailer and therefore would probably not have the logistics in place to carry out national replacements so they may well be forced into a corner there.

I very much doubt there’s anything malicous or suspect there.

These days there is enough to go around, by acident or otherwise that’s the way it is. It’s like people keep asking me to do Walter’s stuff as he’s fucking it up or summat, like I care. I don’t need it or want itas I can fuck up my own work quite nicely thank you very much! 😆

Break? Flipper had a break with the Mrs… Rampant Rabbit stories didn’t prevail. 😉

    Hi Benjamin,

I don’t know what the configuration will be for the Eastern markets on those appliances as, generally, they are different from Western European models in my experience. That said, there’s probably more convergance than ever now, but I can’t confirm it.

Some appliances don’t even have a filter, even in the UK many do not have them as customers regard them as a pain to clean. That they may well be, but it saves the pump or an engineer’s visit on a lot of occasions should something get in there that shouldn’t be. Sometimes you will find a “trap” in the sump hose as well that is designed to catch heavy objects, such as coins, before they enter the pump.

What I would suggest to you first is that you run the machine through empty on as hot a wash as you can with a little bleach in it to try to flush it through. Failing that then come back and let us know and see if we can suggest anything else.

If it’s any help I’d be 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure it’s something external to the machine though, either water in, waste backfilling in or something inadvertantly put in there.

Re: Dishes/Cutlery coming out dyed ‘blue’ in D/w

It is highly unlikely to be the detergent, rinse aid or salt used in fact so unlikely it would litterally be a one in a million shot or, as Woz correctly points out, it would be an epedemic and not just a one-off.

It will almost undoubtedly be an external source causing the problem, either what the customer is putting in the machine in terms of loading or detergent etc.. It is possible that there’s something in the water, but then you’d expect a local epedemic in that case as well and, I’m guessing, that there’s been no other reported cases of it by the neighbours etc., unless there’s something really odd like a private water supply.

That being the case, it has to be something that the customer is putting in the machine one way or another as it’s the only logical explanation.

    Hi Benjamin,

    There’s a section of the site dedicated to this sort of thin, all about staining etc. here;

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/stai … tains.html

If you don’t find the answer there there are other causes as I’ve not completed that section by a long, long way so if you can mail us in a photo of the offending marks we may be able to point you in the right direction. There’s no gaurantee of course that it’s not something local to you that we are unaware of but I could forward the enquiry to the right people to get an answer, if it’s possible.

Del, you should make that point on the Merloni thread as, with that hit rate, you’d need to be being paid well in excess of £50 a call to make it pay. I had already sussed that their hit rate wasn’t brilliant from feedback from retialers, they ain’t at all happy people with Mr Merloni.

You’re right I think, it’s short term, at best a three month stint over the busy period in an effort to take the pressure off, I just agonise over how many of them will swallow the party shit and do it though. Also, the rates seem set as a bribe, it’s only when its all over that the true cost will be counted. (Apologies for the cliche)

Martin, we’ve been reading that kind of shite for years and we all know it’s bollocks. 😉

Yeah and I’m sure that we can encourage a lot more on here as well.

Come on guys, we see the darker side of the service industy, like silly customers that MUST have their hood lights working because the mother-in-law is coming to tea. 😉
