Re: Hygena oven not working but clock is working

Most likely is a faulty limit stat, this one:

You’ll need to give the model number to get anywhere as there’s slews of them, all different.

Should be inside the door or on the top panel, you may need to pull it out a bit to get to it in that case.

    Re: more changes at Qualtex

We’ve started using LF And ASWO a lot more now.

Better prices on a lot of stuff and they’re interested in trade business not going behind all our backs and selling direct to the public.

    Not a clue!

I can’t even fathom who made that for Argos let alone much else. No listing of any spares or info on it to be found anywhere.

Not exactly a huge surprise however when you read this.

And the ASWO price for that part is £7.54 the part number is 8993163 and there’s 63 in stock. WTA members with accounts also get an additional 2{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount on parts to boot.

HTM has it for about £11 ish as well.

Keep telling you all, you need to shop about. 😉

    Re: Beko 0if22300x

The thermostat light will stay lit till it reaches temperature, that’s correct.

The next thing to check and, often it’s obvious and visible that they’re blown, is the main selector switch, this one:

    http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/26390005 … tor-switch

The cooling fan stat only closes when the oven reaches a certain temperature, usually about 100?C or so. If it was open when cold, it was probably okay and all it does is switch the cooling fan on and off.

The limiter should be closed, opens when it gets too hot and closes when cool.

    It’s this one for reference:

    http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/26341001 … thermostat

The live feed to the element is fed through the main oven stat, this one:

    http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/26310001 … thermostat

It just switches the live to the element/s basically, it’s just a dumb old switch really that operates on temperature.

And you can get that from ASWO cheap as well as others.

Yes, you need to shop about. 😉

Re: Too many suds not enough space!

Probably a build up of detergent in it.

Run a maintenance wash as per here although you may have to run several to clear it:

Then stop using only liquid as per the link below. 😉

Re: Kenwood Ck404 one oven dead

Switch is behind the knob you use for functions in essence.

Yes, 1cm round things sounds abut right. One will be a cooling fan control stat, normally open till it reaches temperature then it’ll close and the cooling fan starts. The other is an overheat, normally closed till it gets too hot then it’ll open and shut everything down.

Re: Kenwood Ck404 one oven dead

Common failure is the main oven switch and, if it’s fried, that may well be what it does.

And Dave beat me to the punch. 😉

You’ll struggle to find anyone here that would disagree with that sentiment.

If you can get the numbers off the stat/s I’ll see what I can find as there may be a way.

Re: Emollient on clothing catching fire…

I have heard of it yes but I don’t think it’s at all common as you’d need a high heat in the dryer and a fair amount of flammables to have it happen.

Put it this way, it’s perhaps worth thinking about but not stressing out over.

On the other hand, I guess if you built up a bunch of lint in the dryer covered in a flammable chemical that might well be a recipe for a nasty incident.
