KeymasterRe: Ignis ADL/A/1 Faults
That doesn’t look like a model number and in any event, better to use the 12NC from the rating plate on the door, more accurate.
Without that info you probably won’t get very far.

KeymasterRe: Frigidaire and Panasonic
So far as I know Don, Frigidaire the brand is actually owned by Lux but leased out in territories outside the USA.
HI Group had it but Hisense should through them buying the remnants of HI I’d reckon.
Fast forward and Hisense don’t need Lux if they even still have rights to the brand, no clue.
Panasonic is not a surprise at all, they never really gained any traction IMO.

Overheat thermostat, main oven thermostat or switch are all strong possibilities most of which are pretty cheap to replace.

LOL I remember doing calls on those for that, was well common to see the bolts left in.

KeymasterRe: TDWSF83BEP Door Filter Light
So you’ve two choices then…
The heater needs replaced as, the stat or thermistor come with it, you can’t get it separately.
Or, the PCB is fried.
Either way, £100 or more.

KeymasterRe: Healthcheck Rules
You can check the heater basically as, if it doesn’t work the machine stops or throws up a code.
You’re not there to pull apart the kitchen and on a manufacturer warranty call I wouldn’t be pulling off a silicone plinth either… walk away time.
And, ditto, on a warranty call I ain’t pulling out a machine to check a socket that is, at the end of the day, not my responsibility and most certainly with no reason or justification to even bother to look.
If you want to take all that on, knock yourself out meanwhile I just wouldn’t nor would I expect it. I’d just treat it as I would a warranty call and perform the exact same basic checks I would for that.
It is in essence a standard manufacturer spec test, not a full blown bloomin’ call Tim and it is not sold or marketed as such, in fact quite the reverse, people are specifically told it’s not that.
If you want to look at it as a full call and service type affair I can’t help you as, it most certainly is not.
Anything and, I mean anything, beyond basic function and safety test (i.e. manufacturer spec test) is pretty much chargeable to the customer.
Just as when you get your boiler serviced, basic test, flue meter reading… gone. Anything beyond that, chargeable.
Mot, kick the tyres, do the tests… anything beyond that… chargeable.
In either case, it breaks down next week… hard cheese… chargeable.
If you wish to take the weight of the world on your shoulders that’s fine but it wouldn’t be me.

KeymasterRe: Healthcheck Rules
Picking holes is fine Tim.
The idea is auto do the equivalent of a manufacturer spec test for each product, not an in-depth analysis. So all you’re doing is checking basic functions, installation and safety no more.
If the customer wants and/or you want to offer to do more for extra cash that’s’ entirely up to you.
If you find a fault and you want to fix it free, have at it. Most though will want to charge to replace oven door hinges, seals, grubby washer seals etc, etc. 😉
Keep in mind, this is not a “service” as you are doing, it’s a basic check and registration of the products, anything beyond that it’s up to if you charge and what you charge.

That’s okay, it’s Andy who does that on occasion but doesn’t take the **** with it. 😉

KeymasterRe: WTA 2017 conference
People tend to hit that stuff when they’ve already got a problem Martin, usually looking for something to help them fight their corner as it were with retailers and manufacturers. :rolls:
I take the point though however, personally I do think that the Healthcheck will appeal to a different audience in large part.
One that I’d be keen to see how it fares on, as others have also noted, is the like of housing associations, council facilities and so on as, until now this sort of thing hasn’t really been an option. Now it is.
And of course it can be promoted with every recall that comes along, with recent history on that score I’m guessing we may not have to wait all that long before yet another one pops up. 😉

KeymasterRe: Are you busy?
People are probably a bit nervous about spending money ATM what with Brexit, inflation increasing and wages not. Atop that you’ve got Easter soon and the bills landing for holidays.
So it always seems to slack off this time of year, just look back you’ll see the same conversation about the same time year in, year out.
Have you tried analysing missed calls in your area on the rear search?
