KeymasterRe: WTA 2017 conference
Hi Dave,
That’s only the actual WTA staff I think, not the tickets for general admission. I think there’s still about 80 or 90 left of those although they have been tricking out.

It’s one of those that are supplied as a full door only which is becoming increasingly more commonplace…

KeymasterRe: Twin compressor fridge freezer buying advice
To be perfectly honest if that’s the criteria you’d be better to look for a tall larder and matching tall freezer.
Both you can get from Liebherr among others and that satisfies the requirement for a separate compressor in each if that’s the most important factor.

Nope, sorry that’s a genuine part only and that sounds about right price wise. Might get it a bit cheaper but not significantly so.

That’s the first dual compressor machine I’ve seen in many years.
Problem is, it’s Vestel. They own the Servis brand name now so service and parts down the road are not a rosy picture.

KeymasterRe: How to check fridge temperature
To do it properly you really need to use a data logger and get an average temperature.
There are of course various flavours but the basic principle is the same as you’re trying to read an average and not an instantaneous temperature.
That’s what he is trying to do with the glass of water, a kinda poor man’s data logger for the actual food temp which, as Dave says, is the important thing.
The “hang it on the shelf” fridge thermometers are not the most reliable of things by any stretch ordinarily.

Many warranties, manufacturer or extended will have such a clause in them.
The reason being that you can often find products being put in inappropriate use, abused, misused and so on and that’s a way for the manufacturers to protect themselves against that to a degree.
So even for the like of Miele and others, the warranty depends on use just like a car, 3 years or 100,000 miles and so on, same thing only different.
All you can do is have a read through the T&Cs and see what is and isn’t covered although I’ve no idea what will be covered in Siemens warranty. Martin seems confident it’ll be covered but I’d check.

I checked it, should be the correct one.
You’ll often find that, manufacturers rarely (if ever) provide a fit list for parts.

Given the age and the beating to get them out I’d use the cheap ones as a matter of course but, in all honesty, they’re not six times different from the originals. 😉
The only thing you need worry about really is water getting into the bearings due to a damaged seal and that it all goes back as it should do.
The actual bearings and seal used are a secondary concern as they’ll all last a while and, if they don’t you know something was damaged.

Cheap bearing kit here…
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/05bs10- … earing-kit
Put the pulley nut back on the shaft so it’s sitting just proud of the threading on the shaft, then hit it, hard.
Another trick is to do that and lift the assy up then drop it on concrete to similar from waist/chest height and that will usually convince it to move.
If all else fails, it comes down to brute force and ignorance sadly and yes, there’s a risk of damage, no way round it in some cases.

KeymasterRe: Qualtex Account Closure
There’s a small discount available on most things, not huge at all but the margins are so slim it can’t be done but, it can only be applied to a registered account so what you see there is what you pay.
Confusingly to some when any discount is applied it then displays the discounted price to you and doesn’t show the RRP then.
So the answer is, if you’re logged in and have an account with a global discount, yes and if not, no.

KeymasterRe: Qualtex Account Closure
To be fair, a number of the guys buy from us for that reason as it’s so competitive online these days.
Plus we’ll scan everyone and get stuff as cheap as possible usually as we’ve accounts with almost all of the suppliers, including some you guys would probably rarely or even never use. There again, if it’s one off purchases or once in a blue moon it’s hardly worth holding accounts with them all.
Then there’s the hassle and time factor of searching through wads of stuff to find a part that sure, you may well save a fair bit on but, you may well not and in some cases () with some suppliers not comparing can cost you a damned fortune.
Many of the online stores you see are little more than retail fronts for suppliers, certainly the dominant ones tend to be so you are limited in choice and price all too often.
Just saying… up to you to check it.

You should never open the door before the cool down phase is completed or you risk mucking the stats up or blowing them totally.
But as it’s under warranty you’d be best advised to log a service call than attempt anything yourself.
And I merged the two posts to save confusion.

Liebherr make the Miele units. 😉
Yes, they are better internally as well as build generally.
