KeymasterRe: Fridge Freezers and climate class T
Because most homes are above 16?C all the time.
Hence all the articles and posts about putting fridges and freezers in garages, outbuildings and other low temperature areas although, just as bad if it gets too hot that all essentially say, don’t do it.

KeymasterRe: Integrated condenser dryer?
Hi,
I think you mean a heat pump dryer and you’d probably be best to read this first before going there:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buyi … s-worth-it
And no, no condenser or heat pump dryer which is also self condensing can be installed that way currently, far as I am aware there are no integrated condenser dryers sold in the UK presently.
If you try it you’ll likely have the machine overheating and cutting out due to restricted airflow and/or condensation forming on the cabinet door as well as the floor in front of the dryer.

The answer I’m afraid is a definite maybe. 😕
You might get away with it, you might not.

Multiple usually.
They’re pretty much all on both of those channels as well as their own web presence.

KeymasterRe: Liebherr fridge problem – Ice on tube from compressor
That looks like a severe case of backfrokting and it’s a refrigerant system issue that you will need a fridge tech to look at, it’s not a DIY thing at all.
Insulation will make no difference to that.

KeymasterRe: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers
I recall taking a black bin bag’s worth out a WK in a DAG (IIRC) call I was at in Ayrshire a number of years back. Hoover/Candy’s as well as I was doing a load of those as service agents, saw plenty clogged up.
Beko’s can suffer from it also, I suspect that’s what’s going up in those as well given it happens to them too on occasion.
So I’m sorry but, wrong. It does affect others just as much.

All you’ve proven is that some tumble dryers can be seen blocked up. Maybe that there’s several opinions that might agree with your position.
And… not a single thing else.
Honestly Martin if you walked into a court with that you’d leave with an additional orifice as they’d tear you a new one.
You think it’s the element and you may well be right and I might even agree with much of what you among others say but see, I don’t have the EVIDENCE, the DATA and PROOF to back that up so I shut my face or qualify that it is opinion as I don’t much fancy being on the wrong end of a legal action.

That’s what I’ve been saying for a while.
Back in the day they were looked at regularly so anything like this would be picked up and solved before it became an issue. Now…
Oh, yeah, it’s cheaper not to do that and take the punt it won’t burst into flames.

Not just that Tim.
I’ve seen it for many years working with OEM service, ISE, Amica, insurance stuff I do, consumer stuff I do… it is everywhere and seems to be getting worse.
I also see where statements like that above from Martin have caused massive issues for the repairer, you need to be very careful as one guy may be about to find out as he stated that a product was faulty and that case may well end up in court. He’ll be on the stand and getting grilled alive, largely as he’s wrong.
Then he may well be sued for damages.
Dude could lose his business, house, everything just because he couldn’t keep his trap shut when the reality is, he hadn’t a clue.
Just saying, in a blame and claim culture that we now appear to live in, you need to be very careful.

I suppose you’d stand in a court of law and state that was a categorical fact then eh?
Then get sued by Whirlpool. 😉
That one sentence would be enough to sue for libel if they can prove it to be untrue.
My problem with this stuff is that it largely comes down to simply not taking care and Tim is a absolutely right IMO, so long as everyone makes money from it, no problem.
What I would take great issue with is someone coming back and blaming me or any of the repairers for what is in essence people’s failure to maintain the things so, logically by extension then, you can’t really blame the manufacturer either whether it’s the best design or not.
When you sit on the other side for a while and see some of the outrageous claims that people make and try to get “compensated” for you’d probably understand that a little more. As, it’s always someone else’s fault and problem, never the owners.

Yeah, all too possible.
If they don’t clean the bl00dy filter!!!
This is what’s worried me about this, it shouldn’t but does anyway, that people think that “oh the mods done I can just use it and not bother my a–, it’s safe now and all that, it’ll be fine”.
Along with all the owners of other dryers sniggering that they’re okay as they’ve got no worries.
Guess what, it’s a dryer. It gets hot. It can go on fire if you don’t look after it.
Just like, I have a car, if I don’t maintain the tyres I’ll crash and probably be injured or even perhaps die embedded in a tree somewhere but, that’s my problem as it’s my legal responsibility to make sure the tyres are okay before I even take the thing on the road. Even if I don’t crash horribly into a ditch or tree and the cops stop me, I get handsomely fined for not checking that I’ve been a muppet.
That ain’t the car manufacturers problem or their fault. That’s on me.
Everyone will laugh at me for being a complete idiot and not making sure the tyres were okay and tell me it’s my own stupid fault. Quite rightly too.
And, if I’ve been really dumb then I can get so many points for bald tyres that I’ll lose my license and be banned from driving for a time. When I get my license back the insurers will ram it into me and punish me some more financially.
The motivation not to be a fool in this regard is strong.
Yet somehow muppets that can’t be a–ed and are too lazy to clean a stupid filter is okay, it’s all the big bad manufacturer’s fault?
Can someone explain why that is to me… please?

KeymasterRe: Qualtex Account Closure
It does seem to be a very small number of people that are affected.
Purely by chance a Qualtex rep popped in yesterday and he didn’t know much about it but did say that of his customers which is the whole of Scotland at least, there was only two or three affected that he knew of that were still trading.
