Re: Side by Side fridge and freezer

Don may know more but, from what you’ve laid out there, Liebherr is probably the best option and quite possibly the only one.

    Re: Tangential Fan

The “sensor” is the fan initiation stat I told you about.

It closes when the oven heats up, brings the fan on. Opens when it cools off, shuts the fan off. That’s it.

    Re: Tangential Fan

It sounds to me as if you’re playing a game we call “Parts Bingo”.

Blindly replacing parts is not a good idea at all and, as I’m sure you’ve found, can prove costly.

The fan is getting a constant feed due to some sort of wiring error or a a faulty switch and that is very possibly the issue with the fan element not powering up, which I am thinking you’ve not tested. So it is all too possible that the parts you’ve ordered will most probably not cure the problem that you have and are almost certainly not required.

Per the other thread, as I don’t have a clue what switch you’ve been supplied, if it’s correct or what version, there’s not way for me to tell you much more I’m afraid.

Re: bosch cooker hood – motor trouble

I’m not sure that a generic one would work.

I saw those generic hood motors a short time ago and to be honest, they’re probably fine for engineers to carry and mess about with but I’m not so sure that more inexperienced people would be okay with them. Reason being you’d likely have to muck about with the mounting and figure out the wiring as well, too many ways to go wrong in my opinion.

However, the one you did find, whilst correct is over-priced as I looked into it and added that here:

    http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/00298600 … hood-motor

It sounds as if the bearings are shot on the original one you have.

    Re: Tangential Fan

Possibly but more likely not to engage it.

Usually if that happens it’s something to do with the switch.

    Re: Tangential Fan

Yes, there is a fan initiation thermostat that kicks it on when the temperature rises far enough and cuts it when it cools down enough.

Looks like a small button stat, there’s two on the back one being that and the other a thermal protection one.

    Re: Smeg suk61mfx wiring

Have you asked the supplier of the switch for that?

Or, if you got it from us let me have the order number and I’ll see if I can sort that out for you.

Re: Indesit DIF 16 UK problem

Take the PCB out, see if there’s any visible issues, test the buttons and see what the score is with those.

If that’s all okay, it’s probably not good news.

To chuck a £50 board at it on the off chance that might be the problem without checking seems a bit OTT.

If you can’t or aren’t able to do that then I’d suggest getting someone in to look at it for you and let them take the chance if they want to swap out boards, then that’s not your cost to bear.

Re: Indesit DIF 16 UK problem

My advice would be to email Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk as he’ll verify it all for you.

I would say though that, changing parts without knowing 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} that it is the problem is not a good plan, we like to call it “Parts Bingo”. It’s an expensive game to play and you don’t win all the time.

    This explains…

    http://help.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/support/ … pare-parts

It’s like the VIN number on a car, get it wrong, you get the wrong bits.

Get it right, the parts are correct.

A number of people don’t follow that and get incorrect spare parts.

Not much isn’t specific these days. 😉

It’s probably the switch that’s faulty and, it’s this one:
