KeymasterRe: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers
Yup, there’s a blog entry on it being a piece on the show but no video yet here:

Anyone will need the service number to check pretty much anything for you. Instructions on where you can find that are here:

Yeah but it wasn’t the big giant head, only one of the minions.
/EDIT
It was Jeff Noel she spoke with. Vice President, Communication & Public Affairs.

Yeah, I picked up on that as well, that home insurers may not cover this as it’s a known recall.
Which is probably why that there could be goodness knows how many claims about to land with Whirlpool and, goodness knows how far back that’ll go either.
Unless someone knows something I don’t then a full refund is probably not going to happen as you’d have to take into account depreciation and recession but, this isn’t normal so I wouldn’t bet on what way a judge would view it. However, there is no automatic right to a refund.
That wasn’t the CEO Martin but some VP they rolled out for the press. The CEO is a dude called Jeff Fettig.
And yes Andy, I’d be tending to agree with that.

KeymasterRe: Zanussi filter
Hi David,
That’s one of the new ones that hasn’t got a filter or, it has but, you can’t get to it as it’s mounted underneath the outer tank with the pump on there as well.
If something gets trapped in the machine you either need to strip it out yourself or, you need to get someone in to do it for you.
It’s not clever IMO but it’s another example of cost cutting in action.

KeymasterRe: ISE 1606 fault part 2
I think Melec is correct I also would think that sounds as if it was the anti-flood that’s being tripped.
Until whatever is causing that is resolved, the machine won’t do squat other than enter into an emergency drain program. No way to get out it or abort it until the issue causing that is sorted.
The water level is detected by a pressure sensor and, on the older 1606 there’s an analogue safety pressure switch as well. Signals from those are sent to the MCU which in turn decides what to do with that information.
