If the hood isn’t vented to the outside in that circumstance, it’s about as useless as a chocolate fireguard.
No changing filters or anything else will get round it.

It’s basically Calor gas so, yup, it is flammable and when under pressure and/or in a confined area and exposed to a spark or flame tends to go BANG!
But it is environmentally friendly, the polar bears aren’t getting a suntan and the ozone layer is intact or, not getting worse due to CFC based refrigerant gasses.
All domestic refrigeration now must use R600a by law worldwide AFAIK, that’s it, tough.
Slowly it’s being pushed into other applications as well as Bob points out.

Hi Chris,
You can’t get the front panel off because, it doesn’t come off. It’s welded to the casing per the diagram for it.
That’s the problem with generic videos etc… no specifics.

Most common failure on those is the heat pump, the main motor has the heater built into it and I think it’s this one:
