There’s a hole in it somewhere, either a hose or the tank I expect and it’s just a case of looking to try to find out what’s busted.

    That is too warm.

    The fridge should average +3 – +5˚C.

    The freezer should average -18˚C.

If they don’t, there is a problem.

By the sounds of it, replace the dishwasher or live with it would be the only options you have.

The shocks won’t be an issue but I’d ideally need the ART number from the rating plate to find those and any alternatives.

The tripping, on the other hand, can be a right pain to track and, do not rule out the RCD being iffy. There’s a general article here about it:

I have no idea who made that for Argos as there’s no info on it to be found anywhere I can look.

    Pressure sensor, if one’s fitted.

It sounds like the machine is going to an emergency drain down so, for some reason, it thinks it’s flooded or overfilled.

It is almost bound to be the hinges that have gone and the cheap way to change this is with this kit:

    https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/hingekit3-hettich-integrated-fridge-freezer-door-hinge-kit

    They are easy to swap.

Sounds like the machine thinks it’s flooded so, start with the safety float switch in the base and make sure that’s not jammed somehow.

    Hi John,

You’d be better to give the retailer grief and let them do battle with Samsung as it’s their responsibility really.

It won’t alter on each fill in that case, it’s the same thing every time. All you can do is strip out the hose and inspect it.

    It can’t alter.

What do you mean by “water exiting on initial fill”? Every fill is the same other than what valve is opened and that’s open/closed, it’s binary with only the two options.

BTW, vinegar etc is all old wives tale, complete hogwash that’s gained traction as an “accepted wisdom” on the internet but, rubbish all the same. Does little at all in the real world.

    Vented.

It only all demonstrates that any of them can go if not used correctly. When you’ve got upwards of 5 million out there, there’s gonna be some proper donkey’s using some.

I wish I’d taken pics of the one I was at in a pub many years ago.

WK, an absolute miracle it hadn’t gone up in flames! Chocked full of lint.

But consumer demand for more capacity means smaller heaters, means you can’t have the big double element or similar as you need smaller space to deliver the same/greater heat to maintain performance/consumer expectations = higher temps = more sensitive stat/overheat = assembly to ensure when replaced it’s “clean” = higher repair costs. I could go on but you get the gist.

In the end they are more sensitive, IMO, to misuse/abuse etc simply due to market pressures or consumer demand, you can take your pick of the reason/s why.

But it also means that the design has to accommodate the requirements and not the other way round which to my mind is a bit of an issue.

Thing is, lint is highly flammable as it’s a lot of air with flammable material so if it’s not cleared, well… is it really a surprise when it goes up, irrespective of design?

If the things were maintained correctly, no problem. And, I’m not at all convinced that the punters that own them are best placed (or competent enough) to do that.

I really don’t think it’s a design thing, perhaps not the best for sure but, fundamentally flawed I don’t think it is.

What I can say with almost absolute certainty is that statistics have conspired against them as 5 million of them out there. Stupid people. It’s really not hard math to figure a number are going to go horribly wrong. 😉

700 odd in as many years is, to my mind, good going given the givens.

    I forgot that.

That said, how much longer that’ll be there is anyone’s guess.
