    Hi Kevin,

    Thanks for that.

In some ways that is reassuring that at least my computer is`nt becoming problematic. Did Whirlpool acknowledge any problems with SIOS that caused this to occur?

    Hi Sparkyp,

    Thanks for your response.

I run 2 computers side by side linked together via a switching unit so I can use one monitor, mouse and keyboard.

Both machines have service pack 2 downloaded. After I tried several attempts to install the latest edition of SIOS on my business computer without any luck, I then did a virgin install on my other computer and this succeeded. So I am non the wiser as to why it did not install on the original unless it has to do with updating same 😕

    Thanks again,

    Hi Bob,

    Thanks for that.

Does that mean there are some kind of insert in the paddles?

With no clothes it will tumble once then stop.

Does the service manual give commonly occuring faults list?

    Much obliged,

Re: Whirlpool SIOS Disc Installayion Probs

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks.

Yes I do have it and previous insllations have been no problem.

It occurs within a second or two of starting the installation just
    as it tries to uninstall.

I am afraid it might be my computer as I had a funny smell in
my little office yesterday, like one I have had with a previous
computer when the mother board burnt out. I am just going to
take it apart to see if there is anything obvious.

    Thanks again

    Re: High Mist Recon Motors?

    Hi Bryan,

Its an FL1082 Prod 914789553/00. It is not a Sole motor as listed on TDS but a rectangular shaped motor – Ceset, I think.

    Thanks

    Re: AEG Cooker PNC944181737

    Hi Dave,

That was the correct part ok. It is some kind of PTC device, if that is the correct description, like the compressor starters in the Lec fridges. And it is sandwiched between two very finely wound resistor plates.

Thanks for your detective work on this.

    Re: AEG Cooker PNC944181737

Sorry about this Knave 😈 ,

It is turning out to be a bit of a chaser – potentially.

I wonder whether that is the part or not. That number is listed in TDS under `Ventillation` at pos 999 but does not show it on the diagram.

The limiter I am after appears to be a sensor of some sort that seems to be resistive in that as the resistance changes the `clock` picks it up and starts and stops the cooling fan, maybe some kind of bridge set up.

I know manuf. descriptions do not always truly describe the parts they append to, but a cut out is usually pretty safe to identify; description wise. I just don`t know! I think I feel a photo coming on.

Thanks for your long suffering in this,

    Laurence

    Thanks Rave 8)

I believe the part I need to identify is called the `limiter` as described at 6.1: without electronics, with clock. I cannot find the part listed on TDS, any ideas? I suppose the fault could be the `clock` but if I can get a limiter this would be the cheapest to begin with. Or does the limiter come with the clock? 😕

    Re: What’s Santa bringing you!!

I remember telling my wife not long after we were married (30yrs) she would be getting a super present, something she always wanted. I can`t recall whether it was birthday or Christmas – b,day is 22/12 – but when I saw the look on her face when she opened her brand new electric wok, I just knew I was never going to buy her pots and pans again. It was an intuative sort of thing 🙄
