I was being sincere.
I firmly believe its viable to share what is going on within the industry.
I try, but its difficult for 2 reasons, 1 things are stated either in confidence and threaten future career of mine or any source. 2 people who are unaware are ego driven prefering to simply either believe its not true or mock.
I’m not about to loose friends and a career on peeps such as you Martin.:o
So no im not about to share for example that JTM is likely to loose 98{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of its current workload within the next 6 months, but the providers dont want to inform JTM for the next 5 months, if true the consequences would be obvious to most people of average intellect, and if not true what the 888k would be the point.

I think its great that you arrange meetings.
Sharing knowledge and disscussing movement within the industry.
I’m sure the people who made the effort to attend enjoyed it and gained some usefull contacts.

You make it sound like a swingers meeting.

ParticipantRe: pat testing
A PAT is pretty much an insulation and earth continuity test less the visable checks and fuse rating checks.
A PAT tester is a piece of kit designed to make the test quick and easy, it is no different to a multi meter with a 500v insulation test built into it, same internals, different retail price.
If your recon an appliance an insulation test would be standard practice to test component failure/durability during the rebuild.;-)

ParticipantRe: CDA… Surprise!!
The 3rd party bit was missing in your first post.
CDA had plans implemented last yr to increase in house repair solutions such as remote meetings with engineers in the field too in house technical dept working directly with factories, as sales have increased a more efficient customer focused proffesional field based technical team was planned and has been implemented. Which does include increasing the number of employed field techs and office staff that is required.
CDA no longer needs or wants to hear clients complaining that the product they bought is in the view of the guy sent to fix it describe it as a pile of rubbish. Some of the uneducated crap that gets posted on here is also repeated to clients. Companies are a paying huge amounts in PR, clients are paying a premium and when something goes wrong the last person required is a grumpy 50 something or for that matter 20 something that either yearns for the old days and no longer cares and seen it all or hasn’t got a clue how to switch it on and would rather someone else sort it out.
Reading your post kinda threw me.
You may hear further companies going the same route.
Hence my posts on other threads. I’m not a fan of WP’s and contractors, whilst there are many independants doing a great job, the last few yrs i’ve had some lets say enlightening experiences, the percentage of which has been too great to ignore, the available trained and experienced work force capable of working well has been reducing over the yrs, previous “issues” with an alternative solution have also become an issue, hence the need to change tack.
