Cheers Dave, in the past you have helped me immensely on a variety of repairs, where do you think the fault lies? I’m pretty hands on and electrical savvy even on some circuit board stuff. Obviously if it’s gas related then that is out of my league.
Thank you again for everything past and present.

    Daniel.

    Re: Proline chest freezer.

Thanks for the honest advise. I have already replaced the freezer now, I just don’t like being beaten. I will scour the compressor for a cap, or relay. I will grab my multimeter and test the daylights out of it. I can’t stand the throw out society we have become, if I can make it work for a less fortunate person then I will. Thanks for all your help as always, defo my number 1 website for help. Thank you.

    Re: Proline chest freezer.

Hi Dave, pulled out the freezer, switched it back on. An hour later after the freezer hmmmmn’ed on and off the compressor was positively toasty.
Could you please advise me of the next step…

    Re: Proline chest freezer.

Thanks Dave, I’ll pull it out from under the stairs tomorrow and check for a warming compressor, then go from there. I’ll let you know.

Sorry Dave, I’ve only just seen your post. I’m more used to cars, therefore … What part is the compressor? Is it the big bowl?

    Re: indesit idl40 lights 2 and 4.

Sorry mc1, I just seen you asked me a question and I didn’t reply, for which I apollagise. We never bought a new dispenser as money is very tight, instead we throw a tablet in the machine with the dishes, not an ideal solution I know but working okay for now.

    Cheers Daniel.

    Re: indesit idl40 lights 2 and 4.

I’ve done continuity on both poles and I have an open circuit, therefore I am of the belief its kaput. Or is that incorrect???

Is the dispencer in stock, do you know?

    Many thanks Daniel.

Re: indesit idl40 lights 2 and 4. EASY FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is an old post but, we never bothered taking the machine apart, because on an eco wash we mainly achieved a good wash with an occasional fault. However now the detergent draw is not opening, which made me take it apart, THERE’S A TEMPERATURE SENSOR SUPOSSED TO BE LOCATED TO A CLIP ON THE DESPENER HOUSING…….. WHICH HAD FELL OFF, SIMPLY PUT IT BACK IN AND SECURE, IT WORKS A TREAT, ZERO COST!!!!!………. However now if anybody is reading I need the detergent door release solenoid please help, I can’t believe I have to pay for a whole new dispenser!!!!!!!!!!!! Many thanks Daniel.

    Re: aquarius leaking

Once again thank you to a fantastic site and team of experts, all tested, now have cleaner dryer clothes and the machine went all way through it’s cycle. It’s amazing how when things slowly go wrong you don’t notice, but with a little help to put things right a massive difference is made!!!!! This can be closed as I am confident it’s all sorted 😀 Many thanks once again 🙂

    Re: aquarius leaking

Okay, findings so far, you would appear to be bang on the money, partially blocked is an understatement! How the hell does a child’s sock, hair clips and a colour catcher amongst other things get that far down lol. Reassembling and testing next, I will let you know the outcome. 😀

    Re: aquarius leaking

Okay, here’s what has happened, I’ve cleaned the draw jets, cleaned the pipe to the drum( the best I can as I couldn’t figure out how the plastic jewberlee clips opened without breaking them) I turned the water tap half closed and ran a normal wash. All was well until it hit rinse and spin( not final spin) then water started to come out of the draw again. We switched it off and manually pumped out. Is there a filter on this machine as there isn’t one at the front!!!!! 😛
